Jewish Coaching Project
With the support of the UJA-Federation of New York, FJC piloted Jewish Coaching Project in the winter of 2015. In its first cohort, the project engaged 4 JCC day camps and provided Jewish consulting services to their teams of senior professionals for three years. A second cohort entered the project in 2016 and is currently on track to graduate with newly acquired tools for enhancing Jewish impact by late 2019. The Jewish Coaching Project engages a team of coaches who together with FJC professionals have developed a Jewish consulting methodology that will be used for all Jewish day camps.
Jewish Coaching Project has:
- Developed a shared language of excellence and execution of experiential Jewish education at camp
- Developed a shared language of assessment to measure Jewish outcomes for campers and staff
- Concretized a methodology of change for and within the field.
- Developed a repository of best practices, models, and educational resources that can be disseminated and utilized broadly among diverse camps through the FJC Knowledge Center.
Foundation for Jewish Camp and UJA-Federation of New York believe in the power of the Jewish Coaching Project to enhance Jewish impact at day camps. Currently, FJC is seeking opportunities to bring to the Jewish Coaching Project to communities outside of New York and across North America. “ The Jewish Coaching Project has impacted our summer camp positively in many ways. The project has helped us implement new Jewish programs at our camp and improve programs we already had running.”
