Description
Mission Statement
Perlman Camp exists to provide children with a safe, fun and enriching summer camp experience in a Jewish environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Prior work or educational experience in song leading (experience in camp setting a plus)
Experienced song leader with knowledge of English and Hebrew songs
Ability to play guitar
Prior camp or youth work experience preferred
Ability and presence to lead large groups of children and adults in song
Ability to accept guidance and supervision
Availability for entire camp season (June 11th-August 18th)
General Responsibility
To direct and run camp’s music program (as listed below)
Specific Responsibilities
Be available for pre-camp conversation and pre-camp planning.
Participate in Leadership and Staff training.
Bring an enthusiasm for Jewish music and music education to the camp community.
Provide musical support and accompaniment for pluralistic Shabbat services (Friday night, Saturday morning, and Havdalah).
Assist in music aspects of evening activities, campfires, performances and all-camp special events.
Lead song sessions throughout the week and on Shabbat.
Integrate new songs and ideas into camp program; teach English and Hebrew songs to campers.
Create lesson plans for all music hobbies and bunk activities; and teach hobbies and bunk activities throughout the summer.
Be a positive, contributing member of the Perlman staff
