Director of Youth & Camping
Camp TEKO - Temple Israel Minneapolis
Description
Camp TEKO: Serving as a visionary, leader, and manager of operations, providing campers with a safe, educational, and fun Jewish summer camping experience synchronized with Temple’s wider vision, mission, and strategic plan. Grounding the experience in the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of campers and staff is key. With the support of the JEWL Director, create appropriate structures to recruit, supervise, and retain a staff of counselors and specialists. Be present as the highest onsite authority for behavior-related or other issues, fostering a safe environment conducive to fun, learning, and relationship-building. Manage program development throughout the year, including communications, marketing, and camper recruitment. Oversee TEKO’s ongoing accreditation process and ensure compliance with agency standards.
Youth & Education Programs: In collaboration with youth program participant leaders, provide vision and direction for program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Manage logistics to ensure that on- and o-site programs are appropriately staffed, well-planned, and well-executed. Work with the Education Team to create and implement meaningful curriculum. Some weekend and evening availability is required, as is consistent on-site presence at our camp throughout the summer session.
