Camp Ramah in the Berkshires is a vibrant summer camp community, where children grow in a safe, beautiful setting, surrounded by lifelong friends and guided by spirited role models. From sports and the arts to swimming and outdoor adventure, camp life is infused with the values of Conservative Judaism: love of mitzvot, Hebrew language, connection to Israel, inclusion, Tikkun Olam, and the joy of learning and prayer. Ramah is a transformative experience where Judaism is lived, Shabbat is cherished, and every moment is elevated.

About the Role
Rosh Omanut/Arts & Crafts Director oversees all creative programming at camp, including ceramics, woodworking, painting, mixed media, and other visual arts activities. This leadership role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising arts staff, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment for campers to explore their creativity. The Director works closely with program staff to integrate arts into the broader camp experience.

Summer Dates: June 17 – August 14, 2026

Responsibilities:
•Lead, develop, and oversee the camp’s arts and crafts curriculum
•Supervise and mentor Arts & Crafts Educators
•Plan and organize daily and special arts activities for all camper age groups
•Collaborate with program staff to integrate arts into camp-wide programs
•Bring new ideas and innovations to expand the arts curriculum
•Foster a positive, creative, and inclusive environment

Compensation & Perks:
• $3,000-$6500 based on experience and role
• Room and board provided while in residence at Camp
• Tuition Discount Available for Enrolled Campers, Childcare Available for Pre-Camper Aged Children

Compensation

$3000-$6500

Requirements

Qualifications: • Experience leading arts programs or teaching visual arts, crafts, or related fields • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills • Creative, flexible, and able to adapt projects to different ages and skill levels • Experience supervising staff and mentoring young educators preferred • Team player with enthusiasm for Jewish camp culture and values • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
