Tikvah: Special Needs Program Bunk Counselor
ROLE SUMMARY
Camp Ramah in the Berkshires is an overnight camp located in Wingdale, New York serving campers entering 3rd grade through 11th grade. The mission of Ramah is to provide joyful Jewish experiences to our campers and staff.
We are looking for hardworking, patient and enthusiastic young adults to join our team. Tikvah is our self-contained disability support program for campers who have mild to moderate support needs. The Tikvah counselors will live in the bunk with campers who need support with social skills, daily living skills and navigating the camp day. The ratio of campers to staff is 2:1. Tikvah counselors spend the majority of the day with their campers, attending camp activities and building relationships. Bunk staff are responsible for minimal programming. The Tikvah staff are supervised by the Director of Community Care and Inclusion.
We are looking for candidates who can commit to spending a minimum of 4 weeks at Camp. Salary scale begins at $1,250/ session (4 weeks) with subsequent additions based on relevant camp and professional experience.
Candidates with experience working with children with disabilities are preferred but not required. All staff are required to attend training before the camp season begins.
