Description
The Assistant Director- Inclusion and Counseling is responsible for building a vibrant Jewish community by guiding inclusive practices, specifically overseeing campers and staff care and the well-being of the diverse BB Camp community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to training, developing relevant strategies, and communicating with parents and staff on behaviors related to disabilities, including individuals with intellectual, developmental, physical and/or sensory disabilities. The Assistant Director- Inclusion and Counseling will ensure extra staff support or accommodations are provided to campers to be successful at Camp. Duties include camper recruitment, screening, intake and orientation, case management, program development and implementation, caring for the well-being of campers and staff, evaluation and intervention, developing and implementing inclusion staff training, parent communication, reporting, record keeping, and information collection. The Assistant Director- Inclusion and Counseling is responsible for supervising Younger, Middle, and Older summer camp units and providing support to teen units.
Compensation
$40-45,000 DOERequirements
-Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or special education, with experience in Jewish camping or similar non-profit work, preferred. Bachelor’s degree will be considered. -Proven leadership and communication skills. -Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate effectively with several different stakeholders (parents, counselors, unit supervisors, medical staff, camp administration, etc.) -Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills. -Proven experience with program development and implementation. -Familiarity and comfort with Jewish values and traditions. -Prioritizes inclusivity within the work that is produced. -Ability to be flexible and manage change.How to Apply
