Summary:
The primary function of this role is to assist and support the Director of Camp Sabra in the planning, supervising, and directing of all camp programs during the summer and off-season months. In addition, oversee and coordinate renting of the Camp Sabra facilities to outside groups.
Responsibilities:
• Assist and support the development of camp goals and plan programs to reflect camp goals and to support the agency’s mission, goals, and objectives.
• In conjunction with the Assistant Director of Staffing, plan and implement staff activities to enhance staff engagement and success.
• Ensure emergency procedures are in place and monitor for reporting and procedural compliance.
• Manage day to day operations of camp, with special attention to the programming, in conjunction with the Director.
• Create and manage the area curriculum for daily activities for all campers.
• Create, plan, execute and supervise a 2-, 3- and 5-day Missouri river trip for rising 6th through 9th grade campers and staff.
• Create, plan, execute and supervise a two-week Colorado adventure for rising 10th grade campers and staff.
• Supervise the Area Director Supervisor.
• Supervise All Camp Programmer.
• Coordinate, organize, and monitor all out of camp trips for program content, supplies and emergency procedures.
• Manage the on-duty schedule.
• Manage Shabbat programming.
• Manage camper and staff laundry schedule and systems.
• Under the supervision of the Director, supervise the ordering of equipment and supplies for the Camp, and ensure the proper and timely delivery.
• Assist the Director in establishing opening day and closing day procedures for both staff and campers.
• Assist the Director in supervising all camp cleanup at the end of the season.
• Execute the daily cabin activity grid, morning and afternoon.
• Create, plan, and supervise the evening program schedule for all six units.
• In conjunction with the Assistant Director of Staffing, plan and implement staff activities to enhance staff engagement and success.
• In conjunction with the Director, schedule city reunions and plan program content that yield appropriate attendance from current and perspective new families as appropriate.
• Schedule Family events which could include house parties, camper reunions, virtual events, and city events.
• Manage the Camper Ambassador program, a system of welcoming new campers.
• In the off-season plan and execute in person or virtual camper and staff focus groups and report results in a timely manner.
• Optimize off-season revenue through recruitment of rental groups and secure appropriate staff, developing programming as appropriate and directly supervise the day-to-day operations rental.
• Plan and implement internal retreats include hiring staff, developing programming, and directly supervising the day-to-day operations of the retreat.
• Assist and support the development of camp goals and plan programs to reflect camp goals and to support the agency’s mission, goals, and objectives.
• Ensure emergency procedures are in place and monitor for reporting and procedural compliance.
• Behave in a responsible manner as a character example for all staff and campers encouraging Jewish development, high ethical standards, and good health.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Compensation
$50,000-55,000Requirements
Qualifications:• BA/BS in a related field is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years working in the camping industry preferred.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on deadline.
• Must be able to travel throughout the year and reside at camp during the summer season.
• Must live at camp during camp season (May-August).
• Ability to follow through on assigned tasks with limited supervision.
• Ability to work with all levels of an organization, with ability to meet potential campers and their families and make presentations to them.
• Must have demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Must have a demonstrated ability to learn new software programs, as industry specific programs are utilized in this position (Salesforce, CampMinder).

• Independently apply and carry out policies and procedures within assigned area of responsibility.
• Commitment to agency mission.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required. Training is provided.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk long distances over gravel and rough terrain, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, use hands to handle controls; be able to talk and hear. This employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to participate in games with staff and campers requiring running, stooping or and bending. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. During camp season the majority of the work is outdoors in summer heat and humidity; the majority of the work is inside during off season.
