Our dynamic and community-centered organization is looking to add an energetic, personable, and resourceful Camp & Youth Assistant Director to our team. The Camp & Youth Assistant Director holds a significant leadership role during the summer at Cherryvale Day Camp and is responsible for our year-round after school and School Day Out programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise staff for Camp and After School and assist in training and supervision
Responsible for the recruiting and hiring of all summer staff
Lead camp wide programming like shabbat sing, morning gatherings, etc.
Manage communications with parents of campers and staff and maintain confidentiality
Building and maintaining relationships with our camp and youth families
Oversee the registration and implementation of the youth department programming
Assist with the planning, development, and growth of Cherryvale Day Camp
Work with program vendors as needed
Work with and support the Marketing Department to support the marketing of Camp and After School Programs
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is a full-time, nonexempt position with a hiring range of $39,000-$41,500 commensurate with experience. Employee benefits currently include health insurance (medical, dental, and vision) with access to a health savings account (HSA) with generous employer contributions, a 403(b) retirement savings plan with immediate vesting and an employer match up to 4%, voluntary disability, life, and accident insurance, substantial staff discounts, as well as plentiful time off (vacation, sick, and holidays including a full week during Thanksgiving).
The Boulder JCC remains committed to maintaining the safety, security, and health of our staff, students, and community. To that end, the Boulder JCC has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all Boulder JCC employees, with certain exemptions for religious and medical/disability. The Boulder JCC will require all employees, including temporary staff (i.e. seasonal), to obtain and maintain up to date COVID-19 vaccinations.

QUALIFICATIONS Strong background and experience in camping, childcare, education, and/or related fields Experience supervising staff, program management, and implementation Passionate about youth programming and working with children Ability to step into a variety of roles during camp and throughout the year Willingness and ability to take full responsibility for the safety and security of campers Customer service skills and a problem solving approach Attention to detail and a flexibility to learn new computer programs Sense of humor and serious interest in having fun Extra bonus: Ability to play guitar and sing for campwide programming WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Camp operates Monday through Friday, although this position works some evening and weekend events as needed. Camp operates outdoors unless weather prohibits it, and working conditions include spending time outside in all weather conditions. While performing regular duties, you will be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, or kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Don't meet every single requirement?
