Sprout Westchester Day Camp Group Counselor

Sprout Westchester, a Young Judaea Day Camp, is a place where Jewish children join together to create a diverse, joyful community based on fun, Jewish values and a connection to Israel.

Position Summary:

Sprout is seeking mature, responsible, hard-working group counselors who love being with children and are excited to spend their summer at a full-day summer camp program. Group counselors are responsible for supervising the campers in their group throughout the day, participating in activities with campers (including our swim program), and assisting activity specialists as needed. Group counselors at Sprout help bring their enthusiasm and creativity to daily activities and routines and make campers’ days special and fun with their warmth and caring nature.

Responsibilities Include:

Attending and participating in activities with camp groups.
Being responsible for the safety and well-being of all campers in the group.
Addressing camper behavioral and emotional/social issues and bringing relevant issues to the attention of a unit head or senior staff member.
Serving as a positive role model for campers.
Working together as a team with other staff members.
