Camp Young Judaea-Texas is a Jewish, Zionist, summer camp part of the Young Judaea movement. We offer programs for kids in 1st-9th grade from a variety of Jewish backgrounds.

The Director of Jewish Life is responsible for being a resource for both traditional and creative/alternative daily t’fillot for each aidah (age group) by working with the Merakzim (unit heads) and Madrichim (counselors) in charge of leading t’fillot. He/she is also responsible for the ritualistic and logistical aspects of Shabbat, Shira Shketah (singing), and Havdallah. This person must work with the rest of the staff in order to plan Shabbat each week considering how to make
fun and exciting and how to get the campers involved. He/She will also work with the education director to assist in Jewish/Israel programming for the aidot. He/She will help create an environment where staff and campers engage in the growth of their Jewish identities.


• Experienced Jewish educator • Experience in camp and youth work • Knowledge of Jewish Ritual and ability to lead and teach t’fillot and their meaning • A positive, happy, and amicable disposition • Charisma and presence in front of large groups of youth • Ability to make Judaism fun • Organized, flexible, and creative!
