Come join Team Tikvah! Our Tikvah program for campers and young adults with disabilities has been around for over 30 years and has grown to be a leader in the field of Jewish summer camping
We support campers ages 10-17 (in our Amitzim camper program) and young adults ages 17-24 (in our Ezra vocational program) with a wide range of abilities.
Our Amitzim campers are included in all programming at camp with support when needed and are an important part of our entire camp community. Our Ezra vocational program for young adults with disabilities live as staff members alongside 1,400 staff and campers in our Camp community. During the summer our Ezra staff fill their days with job site experience, life skills classes, recreation activities and living Judaism.
We are looking for Ezra coordinators to join our team. This person will have a background in working with kids and young adults with disabilities, have a passion for the Jewish summer camp experience and will be able to take initiative and work well with a small team of dedicated staff.

Requirements

The Ezra Coordinator acts as a counselor, job coach, mentor and programmer for our Ezra Vocational program. Our Ezra participants are young adults with disabilities who come to camp to work, live in community and learn independent living skills. The team of Ezra Coordinators work with our Rosh Ezra (the Division Head) and are responsible for all aspects of the program. Including, but not limited to: - Acting as a job coach during the work periods each day: Creating daily job goals, working with job site supervisors, creating systems for task completion - Planning and executing group meetings to support learning and the camp experience - Planning and executing days off and fun evening programs - Working with camp staff to assure inclusion in all aspects of camp life - Supporting the social-emotional well being of all Ezra staff through one-on-one conversations and small group meetings - Supporting growth and independence of our Ezra staff

How to Apply

Experience working with kids and young adults with disabilities a plus, but not a requirement. Must be available around June 14 – to around August 18, with the possibility of coming for one month as needed.
