If you like working with human kids and goat kids, our dynamic and community-centered organization is looking for an energetic, conscientious, and resourceful Farm Camp Specialist to join our team for the season. The Milk and Honey Farm is a 2+ acre educational, sustainable farm located at the Boulder JCC. Our farm is a place where the community gathers for experiential programs and activities grounded in Jewish heritage, tradition, and values. During the summer we offer a very popular Farm Camp. Each two week session provides an opportunity for campers to connect with soil, plants, food, animals, and each other. The Farm Camp Specialist will be supported by the Farm and Sustainability Director on curriculum, program development, and farm operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as lead educator for 5 sessions of two-week speciality Milk & Honey Farm Camp.
Work in close coordination with the staff on the farm, the teen farm educator, ECC (Early Childhood Center) farm educator, Cherryvale Day Camp Counselors and all other staff who utilize the Milk & Honey Farm for programs.
Enthusiastically participate in camp programs and activities for the whole camp community.
Maintain a safe and healthy environment for campers, abiding by all camp rules and policies. Assist any camper with empathy and patience when needed.
Interface with the leadership team (Assistant Camp Director, Program Coordinator, Camp Director, Camper Care Specialist, Kindergarten Camper Care Specialist) as needed.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
This role is in-person, seasonal, and full time during the camp season, May 15 – August 11, 2023.
Camp is operated outdoors unless weather prohibits it. Working conditions include spending full days under the sun in all temperatures.
We have three full weeks of training before camp begins.
You will be working with live farm animals and share in their care, but this is not your main responsibility.

Has the ability to think and act creatively, be flexible, demonstrate pride of work, and is caring about the individuals they serve. The Boulder JCC remains committed to maintaining the safety, security, and health of our staff, students, and community. To that end, the Boulder JCC has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all Boulder JCC employees, with certain exemptions for religious and medical/disability. The Boulder JCC will require all employees, including temporary staff (i.e. seasonal), to obtain and maintain up to date COVID-19 vaccinations. COMPENSATION This is a non-exempt hourly position with a salary range of $15.50-16.50/hour commensurate with experience. This is a 40-hour a week position May-August with the possibility of extension through the year.
