Description
The JCC Chicago Inclusion Manager works under the direct supervision of the Director of Social Services to lead the agency’s efforts in creating a culture of welcoming and inclusion for people of all abilities at our JCC Chicago Apachi Day Camps. The Manager will work closely with day camp leadership and families to ensure campers needing additional services are provided with appropriate support for an amazing summer camp experience. The Inclusion Manager will evaluate, plan, implement, and oversee new and continuing inclusion initiatives and programs.
Key areas of responsibility:
Vision & Leadership
Assess JCC Chicago programs and facilities to determine tactics for increasing agency-wide inclusion and accessibility.
Collaborate closely with JCC Chicago departments to offer support in providing recommendations and accommodations for program participants with various needs, as well as to collaborate on joint programming, staff trainings and other initiatives.
Represent JCC Chicago as an inclusion expert in the community.
Inclusion Manager
Manage the implementation of inclusion programs at all 9 Apachi Day Camp sites.
Create and implement Individualized Camper Plans.
Hire, train, and supervise Inclusion Unit Heads for camps that require one.
Partner with Day Camp Directors to support campers and families.
In conjunction with Inclusion Coordinator, complete intakes and assess campers who may require individualized services.
Partner with Inclusion Coordinator to onboard staff and plan trainings for Inclusion Interns and Inclusion Unit Heads.
Create a process for communicating with families.
Train staff to use CampMinder for notes.
Key Essential Job Duties/Physical Requirements:
Lift/move children up to 40 lbs.
Demonstrate physical stamina and agility required to be mobile for long periods throughout the day.
Ability to operate equipment such as phone, computer keyboard, calculator and standard office equipment.
Repetitive movement of arms and hands to operate computer, keyboard and mouse.
Vision: must be able to distinguish between colors, shades and brightness with ability to focus.
Move from sitting (chair and floor) to standing position easily and quickly.
Stand for long periods of time and be able to run and actively engage physically with children.
React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations.

Compensation
68k to 72kRequirements
Education Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education or related field required with courses in Special Education highly preferred.
Master's Degree in Social Work, Special Education or related field preferred, or commensurate experience in the disability services field.
Previous Experience:
5+ years of Special Education experience required.
Must be knowledgeable writing goals and accommodations for IEPs and 504 plans.
Previous experience providing inclusive educational guidance to children and their families strongly required.
Experience developing and leading group trainings required.
Experience leading educational and support groups for family members of children with disabilities preferred.
Other Requirements:
General knowledge of ADA requirements, and other current policy, legislation and best practices in inclusion and disability services.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently and multitask under deadlines.
Fluent in Microsoft Office, Excel.
Able to learn new database systems.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

At least 20 years of age.
A love for children and a passion for helping them reach their full potential.

Valid driver’s license with daily access to dependable transportation. Must be compliant with the agency’s policy of automobile insurance limits, and a driving record that meets the requirements for coverage of the agency’s business auto insurance carrier.
