Judaica Director is the lead Jewish educator at Camp Young Judaea, an independent, non-profit summer camp for kids 8-15 from a variety of Jewish backgrounds. Create and lead curriculum for a pluralistic learning culture with an emphasis on Israel education, Jewish values, contemporary issues and social action. Lead informal and experiential “classes” three days a week and collaborate with Music staff members to lead Friday night, Saturday and Havdalah services. Oversee, train and direct staff. Provide insight and content for special programs and events and act as mentor and resource for American and international staff and campers. Suggested requirements

Experienced Jewish educator with several years of professional experience in informal Jewish education. Comfortable in a pluralistic setting, possess strong Jewish content knowledge and demonstrated curriculum-planning skills for a camp setting. Seeking engaging, approachable, caring, flexible leader and role model who can connect with campers and staff in a welcoming “klal Yisrael” mindset of kindness and creativity. Strong skills in Hebrew required; fluency preferred.

Live-in preferred; live-out possible. Must commit for seven-week camp season as well as one-week staff training program in mid-June.
