Summary:
To assist and support the Director of Camp Sabra in the planning and execution of all transportation needs for the campers and staff of Camp Sabra. As well as assisting and supporting the Director of Camp Sabra in managing the registration of campers and the associated payment. Position Location: At Camp (Rocky Mount, MO) during the summer, flexible during the rest of the year.
Responsibilities:
·Plan and execute all transportation needs for campers and staff. To include but not limited to arrival to and departure from camp and trips out of camp (i.e., river trips), errands (i.e., medical runs, shopping).
Hire, train, and manage a team of drivers.
Plan and execute contracts with all transportation vendors to include rental vehicles, coach and school bus vendors and rental trucks. This includes the Colorado trip coach bus vendor.
Manage the fleet of vehicles both owned and leased. This includes maintenance and assignment of vehicles.
Maintain accountability and responsibility for the driver’s petty cash and expense cards to include executing the monthly expense reports.
Supervise the preparation of conducting both pre-camp and in-service staff training in terms of transportation to include the Transportation Safety Manual and bus safety training.
Process camp billing and payments through CampMinder (Sabra’s registration system) on a monthly basis.
Make collection calls as needed; reconcile any collection concerns or payment plans with Director, Community Relations.
Process any check or cash payments following accounting guidelines.
Serve as administration for the One Happy Camper grand program by confirming registration with community partners as well as entering transactions into CampMinder.
In conjunction with the Director, supervise the ordering of equipment and supplies for the Camp’s transportation and driver’s needs, and ensure the proper and timely delivery. Assist with the purchasing for other items needed in camp
Ensure emergency procedures are in place and monitor for reporting and procedural compliance.
Execute the ACA standards for Transportation to include the annual paperwork associated with this section of the standards.
During the summer months, working at camp as the Office Manager. Duties will include overseeing camp mail, parent communication, packages, supplies ordered, and other daily responsibilities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Compensation
$40,000-45,000Requirements
Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is required. Must be at least 25 years old (in order to drive rented/leased vehicles). Must posses a valid Missouri School Bus Drivers license and a class A or class B CDL with passenger endorsement. A minimum of 3-5 years working in an associated industry preferred with a minimum of 1 or more years of verifiable experience in bus driving. Must be able to pass a DOT mandated physical and pre-employment drug screen. Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and motor vehicle records check. Ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on deadline. Ability to follow through on assigned tasks with limited supervision. Ability to work with all levels of an organization, with ability to communicate with camper families and staff members. Demonstrated ability to interview, hire, and supervise staff, manage priorities, effectively deal with emergencies, and communicate via written verbal methods. Computer proficiency in Windows environment, including Microsoft Office. Attention to detail. Independently apply and carry out policies and procedures within assigned area of responsibility. Commitment to agency mission. Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, walk long distances over gravel and rough terrain, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, use hands to handle controls; be able to talk and hear. This employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to participate in games with staff and campers requiring running, stooping or and bending. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. During camp season the majority of the work is outdoors in summer heat and humidity; the majority of the work is inside during off season.
