Description
The Program Associate will help to implement camp’s mission: to inspire campers and staff to grow as individuals and build Jewish communities through meaningful challenges and shared experiences.
Central to this position’s success is the desire and drive to handle a variety of responsibilities, tackle a wide array of challenges, and participate in all aspects of camp’s planning, operations, and implementation.
Responsibilities (September-June)
•Oversee the development of, manage, and maintain all elements of program design and implementation.
•Create a transformational summer program with big picture programmatic vision.
•Prepare all program schedules to ensure the smooth operation of the day-to-day summer program.
•Run point on the creation and execution of all specialty program days and events.
•Manage logistical support and planning for external camp trips, including transportation, meals, and bookings.
•Procure supplies and other materials necessary for implementation of camp programs and year-round needs.
•Coordinate with on-site food service for all meals, snacks and programmatic food needs.
•Create schedules for each village, program area and special event days.
•Participate in regular strategy sessions with team to identify and address ongoing areas of focus.
•Engage and onboard specialty area coordinators to plan and prepare for the summer.
•Coordinate and develop Jewish and Shabbat programming with the Jewish Life Team.
•Maintain awareness, knowledge and understanding of current societal trends, including Jewish camping, child development, social media, and customer service.
•Provide programmatic support and attendance at year-round Family Camps, reunions, and gatherings.
Responsibilities (June-August)
Camp life moves very quickly. The Program Associate can expect to be faced with a variety of complex situations simultaneously and must prioritize based on importance and urgency.
•Oversite and development of the overall camp and village daily schedules.
•Supervise various members of the camp leadership team (logistics team, activity coordinators, program coordinators).
•Develop meaningful relationships with staff members and campers.
•Coordinate logistics and implementation of all-camp or village-based events/programs on and off campus.
•Secure and manage offsite vendor companies necessary for large scale events at camp.
•Ensure summer Leadership Team is aware of important information, including daily logistics and programming.
•Manage camp program equipment and supplies including inventorying and organization before, during, and after summer.
•Liaise with on-site food service and housekeeping to ensure successful execution of camper and staff needs.
•Work closely with logistics and photography teams.
•Respond promptly to unanticipated, complex changes to planned activities and programs.
•Facilitate pre-camp and ongoing staff trainings.
•Strategize about how to manage multiple interests while always executing meaningful and impactful programs.
•Accompany groups during fieldtrips and other off-camp experiences.
•Maintain a physical daily presence in and around all areas of camp including mealtimes, program blocks, evening programs, and represent camp to our various stakeholders.
Compensation
45,000-55,000Requirements
