Camp Mona Group Leader (Senior Teacher) Job Description
Camp Mona, located at The Hampton Synagogue in beautiful Westhampton Beach, is seeking mature, responsible, experienced, and nurturing Group Leaders (Senior Teachers) to provide campers ages 12 months-4 years with a safe, fun, and exciting camp experience, with the assistance of one or more counselors per group. Camp begins on Monday, June 26, 2023.
You should love working with children, be patient, flexible, collaborative, enthusiastic, and able to maintain calm in all situations.
Responsibilities:
Ensure campers’ physical and emotional health, safety and well-being
Develop caring relationships with campers
Develop meaningful activities, lesson plans and special events that are structured, age- appropriate, and fun, in areas such as art, STEM, literacy, creative expression, physical fitness
Oversee your group’s camp day, including greeting families at arrival and departure, circle time, specials, free play, snack, lunch, and nap/rest time
Participate in all camp activities
Assume responsibility for the cleanliness, organization, and preparation of the camp rooms, program supplies, and activity spaces
Maintain accurate program documentation as needed(e.g., attendance, sign in/out forms, behavior reports, incident reports, and accident reports)
Develop relationships with parents and caregivers through regular communication about their child’s strengths and areas of growth
Be a positive role model for campers and staff
Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment at all times
Ensure that groups are in ratio
Inform the Director daily of any concerns regarding campers, staff, or the facility
Compensation
$15,000Requirements
Mature, dependable, nurturing, and has experience working with children.CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins
Attend all required pre-camp trainings, training sessions, and staff meetings
