Teen Program CoordinatorAt Eden Village West
Eden Village West is introducing a new programmatic focus for our teen session (Keter) this summer– Shomrei Tzedek, Guardians of Justice, will offer rising 9th-11th grade campers an opportunity to explore relevant social issues through the lens of Eden’s values. Through hands-on service, engaging programming & discussion, and the opportunity to design a project to make social impact when they return to their home communities, participants in Shomrei Tzedek will be given the tools to be effective change makers and upstanding members of society.
The Teen Program Coordinator will play a major role in building, managing, and implementing this new program. In addition to supervising & supporting bunk life and programming during the summer, the Teen Program Coordinator will be intimately involved in the development of the Shomrei Tzedek curriculum and programming leading up to the summer. The Teen Program Coordinator will also provide mentorship and continued learning to 10 Shomrei Tzedek camper participants who want to continue their journey with Eden throughout the 2021-2022 school year. They will spend a part of their summer developing their project idea, and work towards implementation during the school year.
During the summer, this leadership position works with both counselors and camp leadership to run the teen program and ensure an excellent staff and camper experience at Eden Village West. This role will report to the Assistant Director throughout the spring of 2021 and the 2021-2022 school year as the program develops.
The launch of Shomrei Tzedek is made possible by the Jewish Teen Education and Engagement Initiative, with support provided by the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, Jim Joseph Foundation, and additional local funders.
