Description
We are seeking a Unit Supervisor for our pre-teen/teen divisions. This position is primarily summer employment although there will be mandatory meetings and trainings (most likely virtual) throughout Spring 2021 to prepare for the summer.
Essential Job Functions:
-Train staff on camp topics
-Observe camper and staff behavior, assess its appropriateness
-Implement appropriate behavior management techniques for both campers and staff
-Create and complete staff performance reviews
-Communicate with parents regarding their children, especially first-time camp families and when issues arise
-Collaborate with and delegate to the Assistant Unit Supervisor
-Create, facilitate, oversee evening unit activities
-Identify and respond to hazards
-Work with different ages and skill levels
-Drive a camp vehicle
-Maintain constant supervision of staff and campers
-Communicate with parents about parent/camp concerns
-Ensure unit cleanliness
-Schedule staff time/days off
Requirements
Minimum age and Education: 21 with 2 years of college or equivalent experience Minimum qualifications: -Previous camp staff experience -Ability and experience in supervising staff and campers -Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a camp setting -Ability to participate in the camp leadership team -Can create a positive camp community -Ability to problem solve -Experience assisting in the development of programsHow to Apply
