Double Chai: Unprecendented Alumni Engagement & Fundraising Success

by Addie Goodman Learn how one overnight camp capitalized on a milestone occasion to turn an annual $75,000 direct mail campaign supported by 100 donors into a $400,000 fundraising effort fueled by 100 newly active alumni and more than 500 benefactors. JCC Chicago’s ‘Double Chai for Chi’ initiative celebrated the 36th anniversary of long-time Camp Director, bookending the summer with a gala celebration in the spring and a culminating crowd funding effort and alumni reunion in the fall. The effort provided a much-needed infusion of capital dollars into the program, created the camp’s first ever reserve fund and launched a formal alumni engagement program.
