Supporting Campers with Anxiety

Anxiety levels are showing up at very high rates in children, so naturally this impacts the experiences of children at camp. This training’s goals are to help staff feel better equipped to identify anxiety in campers, and to feel like they have appropriate tools to support campers and know when to direct a camper to a camper care team (or other camp professional support). The first part of the training will include education around signs of anxiety and differentiating between other challenging emotions. The second part will introduce appropriate tools that counselors can use to support their campers who experience anxiety and identify when levels of anxiety are beyond their scope to help campers manage.
