Under the direction of the Day Camp Director, the Camper Care Director oversees camper care and the inclusion (Tikvah) program to ensure an inclusive, safe, nurturing, and positive camp environment for all campers. The Camper Care Director plays a key role in supporting the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of campers by collaborating closely with camp leadership, staff, and families. This position is responsible for equipping staff with the knowledge, tools, and guidance needed to support individual campers, while also serving as a central resource for campers and families to ensure each camper has a successful and meaningful summer.

Camp Ben Frankel (CBF) is an overnight summer camp located in Makanda, IL for children ages 7-17 in search of a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive Jewish community. Camp Ben Frankel has consistently rated #1 by the Foundation for Jewish Camp amongst Jewish camps in North America according to surveys of customer and employee satisfaction, including in measures of physical safety and mental health support.

DATES:
Our camp is in session from June 4, 2026 – August 2, 2026.
We strongly prefer candidates who can commit to one or more shifts of at least 7 days during our camp season, but we are open to applicants from individuals who can only commit to shorter shifts. We are currently hiring for shifts across our entire season.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Attend to illnesses or injuries of both campers and staff

– Monitor health of campers and staff; provides care for all injured or ill campers and staff

– Provides care for camper and staff illness and injury using best practice protocols and within scope of practice

– Serves as a first responder during medical incidents

– Recommends to the Nursing Director when a child or staff member should be sent home, to a doctor, to urgent care, or to the hospital for medical reasons.

– Administer both OTC and prescription medications to campers and staff at designated times

– Maintain accurate and up to date records of medication administration, illness and injury assessment and care delivered to campers and staff.

– Consults with and makes appointments, when necessary, with medical/dental offices in the local community

– Consults with Nursing Director in monitoring/evaluating camp procedures, facilities, and conditions and recommends modifications that would create more healthful conditions at camp

– Makes sure that medications brought to camp are properly labeled, stored and maintained.

– Maintain a clean and stocked health center with appropriate supplies and medications for the health center.

– Checks, maintains, and issues first aid kits when needed.

– Requests supplies as needed to maintain an appropriately stocked health center.

– Prepares first aid kits for off camp trips and restocks them after each trip.

– Provides Epi-Pens and camper medication as needed to trip leader prior to departure..

– Obtains lists of campers and staff scheduled for upcoming trips and discusses special needs with the leadership team members leading that trip.

– Keep accident/incident reports that can be used for risk-management assessment according to system defined by Nursing Director.

– Organizes and logs incident reports into medical log.

– Keeps clear, accurate and concise records on all campers and staff.

– Updates a daily medical log and medication log.

– Is always stationed on-site at camp (or with camp if all camp is on an out of site field trip) while on duty and is available in case of a medical event or injury.

– Monitors a camp-issued walkie-talkie and responds as-needed.

– These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.

ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
Compensation Package Worth Up To $4,050 per week ($16,200 for four weeks)
– Salary: $1500 per week

– Tuition included for each week, for up to two children per week, valued at $1100 per child per week

Habonim Dror Camp Gilboa, an ACA accredited, residential summer camp located in Big Bear Lake California is seeking a residential, seasonal mental health professional (MHP). The MHP is a critical member of the Camper Care Team at Camp Gilboa. In addition to providing direct intervention and support of campers and staff, resources and training to campers and staff, the MHP also works to support our unique youth leadership model by empowering staff and youth leadership in their roles. The MHP should have a desire to grow personally and professionally as part of a close-knit community of committed individuals. This is a residential position. Primary Responsibilities

Provide ongoing mentorship, training and support to counselors, head counselors, and youth-led Camper Care Coordinators as they implement interventions and program modifications.

Work with campers and staff to proactively incorporate skills and strategies to alleviate anxiety and contribute to a positive camp environment.

Provide emotional support and guidance to individual campers with active mental health concerns. Please note that this is NOT therapy but rather therapeutic support and/or guidance including providing psychoeducation, self-regulatory tools and triaging level of care needed

Provide assessment and direct intervention in cases of mental health and/or behavioral crises in collaboration with camper care team, camp director and Executive Director

Partner with the youth camper care director to manage the Camper Care team

Work with the ED to bring in outside consultation from the mental health committee as needed

Work with the camper care team to design modifications to programs and activities to be inclusive of all campers, including those with learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Executive Functioning challenges, and more.

Maintain required documentation for camper meetings, team meetings and parent calls.

Communicate with parents regarding campers with mental health and/or behavioral issues.

Be “on call” for any behavioral, social or mental health crises that arise with campers or staff during the summer. An “on call” schedule will be established and agreed upon prior to the start of the summer.

Attend pre-camp training on camp policies, including child abuse and neglect and emergency procedures.

Provide staff training prior to opening day and during summer on behavior management, eating disorder awareness, child development, and childhood mental health disorders.

Provide support to staff as needed, and support senior staff in finding solutions to mental health challenges counselors are facing

Participate in daily meetings with camp leadership to ensure that camper and staff well being are centralized in camp operations.

Provide guidance on supporting staff and camper with regards to restorative justice practices and how to implement them in appropriate ways

Provide support for counselors to care for their personal mental health and emotional wellbeing

BB Camp seeks a dynamic RN to serve as the Wellness Center Manager at the Overnight Camp site on the Oregon Coast. BB Camp provides medical care for campers and staff who attend BB Camp during the summer months. BB Camp’s Wellness Center includes an infirmary and rooms for children who may require an overnight stay for observation. The Wellness Center employs 2-3 staff during the camp season. These staff include a Wellness Center Manager and at least one full-time assistant whose duties may consist of dispensing home prescription medications, assisting in clinic flow, performing minor first aid, infirmary cleaning, and other duties as assigned. All Wellness Center staff must have current American Red Cross or equivalent certification in CPR and First Aid.
This is a full-time, summer, exempt position. Responsibilities performed at the Overnight Camp site (near Lincoln City, OR). The Wellness Center Manager is expected to be available for weekdays, weekends, and nighttime. The Wellness Center Manager will receive 24 hours off per week, and a minimum of 2 hours off per 24 hours.
-Responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the Wellness Center.
-Provides care to children and staff for minor injuries and illnesses and may provide first aid or dispense OTC medications in accordance with the Standing Orders and Treatment Guidelines.
-Provides initial triage and determines if patients can be treated at the Wellness Center or require service from local emergency services, hospital, or Urgent Care.
-Supervises and creates a schedule for Wellness Center Staff.
-Ensures daily presence of Wellness Center staff and orderly flow of patients in/out of daily clinics.
-Creates a system for patients who request to be seen during non-clinic hours.
-Supervises dispensing of home prescription medications or OTC medications to campers and may delegate this supervision to approved Wellness Center Staff.
-Ensures all encounters are documented in the Camp database.
-Maintains patient privacy according to HIPAA standards.
-Communicates effectively among staff, campers, and parents. In some situations, phone calls to parents will be made along with a backup medical provider and/or the Camp Director.
-Professionally maintains the Wellness Center, ensuring it is sanitized regularly, organized, and uses universal precautions.
-Maintains inventory before, during, andafter the camp season. Requests replacement inventory when needed.
-Collaborates with the on-call physician/APRN and/or camp leadership on issues that may arise.
-Works with the Camp Director and Medical Director to lead staff training for summer staff related to wellness at Camp.
-Checks and issues first aid kits as necessary, including those for overnight trips.
-Participate in supervisory and staff meetings.
-Some duties may be reassigned, and other duties may be assigned as required.

The Assistant Director of Community Care is licensed and certified to deliver best-practice, trauma-informed care to children, teens, and young adults with mental and behavioral health challenges. The position is responsible for building a vibrant Jewish community by providing culturally competent mental, emotional, social, and physical health services, overseeing campers’ and staff care, and the well-being of the diverse BB Camp community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working closely, training, developing relevant strategies, and communicating with parents, staff, and campers on issues related to mental, emotional, and social health (MESH), including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/ loss, relationship issues, emotional regulation, social skills, and group dynamics to ensure a successful camp experience. Duties include recruitment, screening, intake and orientation, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, counseling, training, patient education, case management, reporting, record keeping, and information collection.

Who We Are: Camp YJ is an independent, non-profit overnight camp for kids ages 8-15 from a variety of Jewish backgrounds. We are located on 168 scenic wooded acres on the shores of Lake Baboosic in southern New Hampshire. Since 1939, campers, counselors, and alumni have experienced the Joy of Judaism and incredible Journeys of growth that shape their lives by being part of our camp community.

Our community is composed of:
● ~400 campers largely from the eastern seaboard and their families –– at least 30% of our campers have a parent who went to YJ
● Summer staff of 80 counselors –– 80% of whom are former campers and 20% are international
● 20 summer administrators, specialists, and medical professionals –– all of whom are college graduates and some with 10+ years of experience at CYJ
● 6 year-round staff (current configuration: f/t Executive Director, f/t Chief Operating Officer, f/t Director of Facilities, f/t Assistant Director, p/t Director of Recruitment and Family Engagement, p/t Director of Alumni Engagement)
● 5,000 active alumni –– many of whose children and grandchildren attend camp

We welcome children 8-15 years-old (completing grades 2-9) for 2 week, 3 ½ week and 7 week sessions. Our oldest campers (completing grade 10) participate in a culminating, educational experience in Israel or Europe for 5 weeks and then return to camp “deep in the hills of New Hampshire” for 2 weeks of leadership training. Sababa immerses campers in the magic and majesty of the beach, adds the right amount of Jewish spiritual practice, and provides a fun, non-competitive yet challenging camp experience.

Position Summary:
The Lead Social Worker is responsible for maintaining Sababa Beachaway’s emotional, social, and spiritual health initiatives, ensuring strong support systems for campers and staff. As a member of the management team, the Lead Social Worker will support camper intake to support camper readiness and wellness before, during and after camp. They will supervise a second social worker and/or other mental health provider. This is a part-time position starting June 2026 (flexible hours) and full-time in-person position at camp in Virginia Beach from June 16 through August 3, 2026.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Implement and manage camper support systems to ensure the physical, social and spiritual health of campers and counselors;
Collect and review camper intake information prior to the start of camp to develop and draft camper behavioral plans and contracts where appropriate;
Provide outreach to campers’ home support network (e.g., psychologists, social workers) as needed;
Respond to mental health crises, providing immediate support and de-escalation as needed;
Debrief and provide guidance to campers and staff after crises or traumatic events; follow up with camper families in coordination with the Camper Care Director;
Communicate with parents/caregivers regarding camper needs and progress;
Record mental health interventions, successes, and challenges in the camp data management system ensuring data/information accuracy and attention to detail;
Collaborate with the medical team to support campers needing medical procedures or behavioral support with the goal of returning campers to programming;
In partnership with the camp leadership team, serve as a resource to campers, parents, and staff regarding MESSH challenges, fostering an environment for growth and success;
Provide support and be an emotional resource to counselors, specialists, and group leaders to problem-solve issues;
Communicate with parents in coordination with the Camper Care Director and/or camp leadership to maintain open discussions regarding camper growth or challenges;
Review camper care logs and ensure appropriate follow up with counselors, health team and others as needed;
Build and maintain strong relationships with families, providing excellent customer service and ensuring positive engagement with Sababa;

As an Avodah Staff member, you are a primary caretaker, along with a co-counselor, for a bunk of 2-6 Avodah participants (adults with developmental disabilities), ranging in age from 18-30. You will live in the cabin together with them, and follow the schedule of the day with your assigned participants: actively participating, leading, supervising and engaging them in all aspects of the day. In a typical day, you may take them to their job sites, join with them in the pool for Free Swim, help run the Coffee Cart, create rituals for reflection at the end of the day, meet with the participants to support vocational goals, encourage skill-building in areas of work and socialization, share meals together and much more.
