Manage Kitchen Operations: Direct kitchen staff during service to maintain pace and quality.

Inventory & Supplies: Working with the head chef to order food and supplies for the kitchen.

Food Safety & Sanitation: Enforce health and safety regulations, maintain cleanliness, and ensure proper food storage.

Staff Training: Train new kitchen personnel on recipes, plating standards, sanitation, and station setup.

Maintain Kosher standards and take the lead in the kitchen when the chef is off duty.

New Country Day Camp is an open-tent community that celebrates and sustains joyful, outdoor summer experiences where all can thrive. We maintain a proud legacy as a Jewish camp, comprised of a multicultural community, representing and celebrating the heartbeat of NYC. We build meaningful connections with ourselves, each other, and the natural world around us through innovative programming that is rooted in Jewish tradition and guided by universal values.

New Country Day Camp is a 7-week, outdoor summer camp for campers in kindergarten-8th grade. NCDC operates M-F, 8am-5pm, and provides transportation for staff and campers to and from our campgrounds on Staten Island via multiple locations throughout Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. NCDC is a neurodiverse camp community, and all staff members are responsible for supporting neurodivergent and neurotypical campers and staff to have successful summers.

The Jewish Culture Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and execution of Jewish programming on the grounds at New Country Day Camp. The Jewish Culture Coordinator utilizes the NCDC mission, values, and Jewish ethos to generate and support Jewish initiatives and programming.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Camp Planning
Consult with various members of the leadership team on the development of the New Country Day Camp Curriculum Guide and visibility of Jewish Initiatives
Develop and support with leading staff training session(s) on Shabbat/ Jewish Programming at camp
Submit lesson plans for all program varieties (Division-wide, cohort, inclement weather) to supervisor and consultants
Attend any necessary pre-camp meetings leading up to the summer
Program Management
Teach weekly, Division-wide Jewish Programming Blocks, incorporating activities that give meaning to NCDC values and seasonal theme.
Develop and execute 30–40-minute activities for groups of ~30 campers at a time grouped by age and inclusive of varying needs and abilities
Create and implement alternative programming for activity periods as needed (e.g. absent Program Staff, schedule adjustments, etc.)
Develop, execute, and lead portions of weekly Shabbat celebrations
Where possible/appropriate, utilize music or other creative modalities as a means of engaging campers and staff in NCDC Jewish Curriculum
Be actively involved in the development and implementation of NCDC Maccabi Games (color war) and other specialty programming (e.g. Tu B’av holiday programming)
Execute inclement weather programming as needed over the summer
Leadership and Staff Supervision
Uphold commitment to prioritizing the Jewish curriculum at camp throughout the summer
Support the general execution of the camp day-to-day as needed
Support NCDC staff in overseeing the throughline of Jewish throughout each week
Act as resource for all staff in implementing the Jewish curriculum at camp
Attend weekly Program Staff meetings and act as resource for the Program Staff to incorporate the theme into their lesson plans
Task manage counselors and develop clear roles for them during programming
Model professional behavior for campers and other staff at all times
Maintain and exhibit a role of leadership at all times as a member of NCDC’s Key Staff
Establish and promote a commitment to the values, mission, and vision of New Country Day Camp
Be present at all days of orientation, camp and staff meetings during the camp season

Village (Unit) Supervisor

Village (Unit) Supervisor

In addition to this salary, all jewish identifying staff are eligible for a $4500 undergrad or graduate program

Position Summary
The Village (Unit) Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising and mentoring a group of staff as well as ensuring the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health, safety and well-being of all campers in their assigned unit. The Supervisor is fully involved in all aspects of the campers’ day including village programming, group management, community experience, and scheduling for campers and staff. The Village Supervisor will work in tandem with the Community Care Manager and broader summer leadership team at camp to ensure the positive resolution for any and all camper, staff, and parent issues that may arise. This position requires a person with a variety of skills and abilities to transition from one situation to another, quickly and intuitively, while also showing compassion and empathy for campers and staff. It is essential that the Supervisor is compassionate and patient, and should have significant experience working with children.

Responsibilities
• Serve as a positive role model in the camp community and represent camp values
• Participate in required supervisor and staff training prior to camp
• Foster an atmosphere of positivity, collaboration, support and inclusivity where learning is hands-on and fun
• Responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of all campers in the village
• Communicate and collaborate with camp social worker, Health Center manager, and supervisory team to ensure campers’ and staff success
• Exude positive presence and leadership in the village and across camp through communicating daily with staff, building strong village culture through traditions, rituals, and special events; overseeing the timeliness of village; managing the placement of campers in electives; and, being present
• Create strong relationships with campers, staff, and parents to support positive outcomes for any and all camper or staff issues that may arise
• Oversee development and execution of cabin and village-wide programming; collaborate with village programmers to create schedule, manage group dynamics, and support the staff in seeing programs through from inception to completion
• Manage team of village staff and facilitate weekly meetings that encourage strong communication, teamwork, creativity, and high staff morale
• Provide staff with timely feedback and support as well as conduct performance evaluations to support their growth and success
• Manage camper behaviors using positive behavior management techniques, enforce appropriate safety policies, emergency procedures, and camp rules
• Supervise, contribute to, and lead village and all-camp activities such as evening programs and all-camp events
• Be an active, engaged, and punctual leader across camp
• Create an end-of-summer report and binder that includes an overview of village experience, logistics, scheduling, traditions, rituals, and programming, as well as recommendations for future enhancements for Community Care Manager
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Camp Director

Position Summary: As Unit Head, you will serve in a vital leadership role responsible for creating a positive, safe, and engaging camp experience for a group of campers and staff. You will oversee all aspects of unit operations, including staff supervision, program implementation, and camper well-being. Working closely with the leadership team, you will help uphold camp policies, coordinate daily activities, and ensure smooth execution of programming, including unit overnights and day trips. As the primary supervisor for unit staff, you will provide mentorship, guidance, and ongoing feedback while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen your leadership skills, model clear expectations and professionalism, and make a meaningful impact on both staff and campers within your unit.

Responsibilities:
– Attend Unit Head, Leadership, and other supervisory meetings.
– Help implement, uphold, and support camp policies.
– Oversee the implementation and execution of all programming for assigned unit.
– Incorporate unit staff members in program planning and leadership.
– Manage all site and supply arrangements with the support and approval of the Asst. Director of Programming.
– Ensure unit staff are always at their assigned locations; know where all of your unit staff and campers are at all times.
– Act as a role model for all staff, including being present within the unit. Be the counselor’s support and assist staff with problems and questions.
– Serve as the primary supervisor for assigned unit staff, regularly evaluating their performances and caring for the well-being of all campers within the unit.
– Act on behalf of the unit for issues involving the camp community.
– Lead regular unit staff meetings; check in with each unit staff individually at least once daily.
– Be directly involved and participate with all campers and staff in the daily program.
– Communicate with the Directing Team on key matters

Office Staff

The Office Staff of URJ 6 Points Sports Academy plays a vital role in organizing crucial logistics of camp operations and engaging with parents as the front line staff in communication. This position is responsible for supervising the day to day activities in the camp office, monitoring camper travel and mail, and ensuring exceptional customer service with our camp families, in coordination with the Assistant Director of Engagement and Operations and partners on the Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the frontline in communication with parents and families by monitoring main camp email, phone, and voicemail
Connect camp staff to families requesting support or assistance
Provide elite levels of customer service to our parents and families throughout the summer
Support Assistant Director of Engagement and Operations in supervising the logistics and communication of camper travel to and from camp
Organize and maintain the camp safe containing camper valuables
Organize and oversee camper luggage logistics, including labeling, sorting, tracking, and coordinating delivery to and from dorms during arrival and departure days
Manage incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries
Sorting daily mail for campers and staff
Daily printing of camper eLetters and uploading return mail
Ensuring that outgoing snail mail is accurately stamped and addressed
Notifying camp staff of arrival of their personal packages
Approving specific parent requests to send camper essentials in packages
Run reports to using the camp database to provide information to staff
Maintain a clean and professional office space
Monitor inventory of office supplies throughout the summer and at the end of the summer
Assist in emergency communication procedures when necessary

Salary is negotiable and ranges from $2500-$3500 based on experience/qualifications.
The office is open from 9am-9pm Sunday through Thursday, 9am-4pm on Friday for Shabbat, and 1pm-7pm on Saturday. The office closes during camp meal times, and breaks are provided as we want our staff engaged in the camp community! We also typically provide 2 days off per 12-day session.

A Videographer is essential in documenting and showcasing a memorable summer at 6 Points Sports Academy. Videographers work on the communications team and spend most of their time with a camera creating and editing content. Videographers are key members of our summer staff putting forth creations, short and long form, for our camp community to enjoy during the summer and year round. Videographers must be familiar and support the mission of 6 Points Sports Academy and act in accordance with this mission. We want our Videographers in the fields, engaging with campers, as they capture the everyday beauty at Jewish, Sports, Camp.

Key Responsibilities:
Film Sport Majors, Electives, Special Events
– Utilize camera and prior experience to judge and capture moments focusing on camp community
– Confirm daily schedule assignments and prepare needed resources with communications team leadership and teammates
– Intentionally capture camp population being mindful of boundaries while filming
Content Management & Editing
– Upload and edit content for short or long form video needs to share with rest of communications team

Camp Young Judaea Sprout Lake is a value-driven Jewish overnight camp in the Hudson Valley, serving campers ages 7–13. Sprout Lake fosters a joyful, inclusive community where campers build lifelong friendships, deepen their Jewish identity, and grow as confident, compassionate leaders.

Position Overview:
The Archery Specialist leads safe, engaging archery programming for campers and oversees the daily operation of the archery range. This is a part-time role (~26 hours/week), making it a great opportunity for someone looking to be part of a camp community without a full-time commitment.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead engaging, age-appropriate archery instruction for campers of varying skill levels
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed and maintain a safe, well-managed range
• Set up, inspect, and maintain archery equipment and range facilities

Ramah Day Camp is a fun, dynamic, and enriching Jewish summer camp experience for campers ages 4-14. Located on a beautiful tree-lined campus in Elkins Park, PA, we provide a full range of programming in a nurturing, safe environment that brings Judaism alive in fun and engaging ways. Our campers enjoy a summer of growth, exploration, friendships, learning, and fun, with the goal of creating lifelong Jewish connections, one happy camper (and staff member) at a time!

Under the direction of the Day Camp Director, the Camper Care Director oversees camper care and the inclusion (Tikvah) program to ensure an inclusive, safe, nurturing, and positive camp environment for all campers. The Camper Care Director plays a key role in supporting the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of campers by collaborating closely with camp leadership, staff, and families. This position is responsible for equipping staff with the knowledge, tools, and guidance needed to support individual campers, while also serving as a central resource for campers and families to ensure each camper has a successful and meaningful summer.
