Join the team at Eden Village West! The Community Care Specialist, Staff is a seasonal
summer full-time non-exempt position. The Community Care Specialist, Staff reports to the
Director of Community Care.
About Eden Village West
Eden Village West is an organic farm-to-table residential Jewish camp in Sonoma County,
California with a 6-week overnight summer program as well as other farm programming
throughout the spring and fall. Our campers enjoy farming, wilderness and homesteading skills,
culinary arts, music and sports as they become empowered to promote a more environmentally
sustainable, socially just, and spiritually connected world for all.
Specific Responsibilities of the Community Care Specialist, Staff include:
Summer (on site, full time at camp June. 4- Aug. 1):
● Serving as a primary resource to staff as they work and live within the EVW community,
including
○ Proactively listening and responding to staff needs
○ Helping staff to hone self-care skills
○ Providing resources to staff who require off-site mental health connections or
care during the summer, and coordinating those needs with the camp schedule
and senior leadership team
○ Working as a support to staff who are actively engaged in high level camper
care processes
● Playing a leadership role in the planning and implementation of staff training and
ongoing summer staff learning related to mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health
(MESSH) including:
○ Creating ongoing staff training on areas of mental health
○ Creating and implementing programs for staff focused on staff wellness
and social-emotional learning
○ Creating regular outlets for staff to communicate with camp leadership
about needs or desires related to wellness at camp
○ Creating life skills workshops for the EVW Junior Staff cohort
● Working as a part of the larger Community Care team to support campers throughout
the summer in facing MESSH challenges, and assisting counselors and unit heads in
problem solving cases wherein campers need special support.
● Managing information about staff and camper needs, and communicating those to staff
and senior leadership
● Communicating and managing relationships with parents/caregivers in regards to
camper needs
● Documenting all interactions with staff and campers in Eden Village West’s systems
● Assisting with the development of any necessary camper behavior plans or staff
performance plans that include MESSH goals/resources
● Living at camp on-site for the full duration of camp (housing/meals are provided), and
weaving yourself into the fabric of the camp community
● Acting in support of any and all additional Community Care needs during the summer as
needed, staff or camper related
Additional responsibilities:
● Being part of the spiritual and musical life at camp, through active leadership and
participation in rituals, music making, and spiritual tone setting
● Other additional responsibilities as required.

Ramah Berkshires is seeking a responsible, dynamic, experienced, organized, energetic, and camp-loving person for a Rosh Edah (Unit Leader) Position. A Rosh Edah oversees the day-to-day camp experience for an Edah (Grade) of up to 65 Campers. Through organization, staff supervision & management, a Rosh Edah crafts the summer experience for Campers.

2024 Dates:
Senior Staff Training: June 10-16
General Staff Training: June 16-25
Camp Season: June 26 – August 16

Salary: $3200-$5500, depending on experience. Additional compensation available for pre-summer work. Room & Board provided while in residence at Camp.

We are located on 560 serene acres in Northeastern, PA, and have campers ages 7-17. Camp Zeke is seeking enthusiastic and mission-aligned unit head to work in the male division from June 17th to August 11th.

Job Description:

The job of male unit head is an integral role at Camp Zeke. It is a leadership role with many facets, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that our campers have an amazing time and that our staff strive to be the best they can be, while creating a warm and inviting community.

The unit head will be responsible for overseeing the well-being and care of the campers and staff in one of five units in camp. Unit leaders will meet daily to review bunk logs which are completed by the counselors in their unit and which cover issues and concerns in regard to their campers. They will coordinate calls home to parents and will communicate with parents as needed. Unit heads will assist with announcements and orders during meal times. They will coordinate with our camper care team on issues related to campers that require attention. Unit heads will actively participate and assist throughout the day in the camp’s programs, helping to inspire counselors and campers to live the mission of camp – active healthy living!

Spend an incredible summer working with kids at Camp Zeke! Camp Zeke celebrates healthy, active living through whole foods, sports, fitness and culinary arts! We are located on 560 serene acres in Northeastern, PA and have campers ages 7-17.

We are looking for an office staff member to join our team from June 23 – August 11, 2024, and live on-site at our camp in the Pocono Mountains! There is some flexibility in the start date for full time school workers.

Summer Camp Office Staff Responsibilities

Report to the Operations Director and assist as needed with administrative duties.
Answer phones, address parent concerns (with a focus on an exceedingly high level of service) from start to finish, and assist with other office tasks.
Keep an upbeat, positive attitude and leave every parent with a smile on their face following any interaction.
Maintain high levels of organization and cleanliness of office.
Gain a working knowledge of CampMinder, our camp management system, and address a variety of parent requests relating to CampMinder (form uploads, transportation changes, etc.).
Coordinate pick-up and distribution of mail and CampMinder emails every day.
Use camp car to run local errands as needed, i.e. to the pharmacy, to pick up mail, to drive campers to doctor’s appointments in the local area.

Position Summary:
Camp Mountain Chai is searching for dedicated individuals to join our team as seasonal Health Center Specialist for the summer season. As a Health Center Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our campers and staff. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background and/or interest in healthcare, nursing, or related fields, who are passionate about working in a camp setting and providing quality medical care. The Health Center Specialist will be responsible for managing the health center, coordinating medical staff schedules, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Responsibilities as Staff at Camp Mountain Chai:
• Participate in the mandatory pre-summer meeting, specialist orientation, and staff week.
• Attend regular supervisory meetings (one-on-ones) with the Directors.
• Assist with closing camp at the end of each session and summer.
• Assist with end-of-summer inventory for the health center.

2. Environmental Stewardship:
• Instill in campers and staff respect for nature and the environment.
• Lead by example in eco-friendly practices.
• Ensure campers and staff follow guidelines to prevent damage to camp property.
• Promote a clean and eco-friendly camp environment.

3. Communication:
• Maintain open and effective communication with the CMC full-time team, summer Leadership team, and fellow staff members.
• Attend walkie-talkie training to use communication devices effectively.
• Charge walkie-talkies nightly to facilitate communication within the Leadership team.
• Assist medical staff with documentation of Health Center visitors using the CampMinder database.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding camper-related medical updates.
• Immediately communicate with the Assistant Director for Health Center supplies or medical equipment needs.

4. Health and Wellness:
• Ensure the Health Center operates safely and in accordance with guidelines.
• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Health Center.
• Provide basic first aid when necessary, following camp health and safety policies.
• Refill the First Aid Kit weekly.
• Promote good hygiene practices and encourage campers to stay hydrated and eat nutritious meals.
• Document and report incidents or issues promptly by filling out accident/injury reports.

5. Group Dynamics:
• Foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity within campers.
• Build positive relationships with every camper who comes to the Health Center.
• Assist with resolving conflicts and create a supportive, respectful, and positive atmosphere.

6. Program Activity Leadership:
• Assist and support all-camp programs as necessary.

7. Camper Supervision and Safety:
• Maintain a high level of safety for all campers throughout the day and at the health center.
• Build positive relationships with all campers. Responsible for the health, safety, and happiness of campers always.
• Attend and actively participate in camp-wide safety and emergency response training sessions and protocols.

Physical Demands:
• The ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 35 pounds, such as coolers, medical equipment, and medical supplies.
• The ability to frequently stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl, especially when assisting campers with various activities.
• The ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often while leading campers on hikes, nature walks, and field trips.
• The ability to sit for extended periods, especially when instructing campers in arts and crafts, storytelling, and other sedentary activities.
• The ability to operate machinery and equipment, such as camp grills, canoes, and archery equipment, with proper training and safety precautions.
• The ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoors, outdoors, and in confined spaces, such as tents, cabins, and camp buses.
• The ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sun exposure.
• Swim and/or pass a swim test to ensure the safety of campers during water activities.
• Maintain attention and high levels of energy or excitement for extended periods to keep campers engaged and entertained.
• Spend most of the time outdoors and tolerate a variety of weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and insects.
• Be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out to assist campers with various activities, such as tying shoelaces, helping with bathroom needs, and participating in physical games.

Activity Instructor

Young Judaea Sprout Brooklyn Day Camp, located in Red Hook, is a Hebrew dual-language camp for children entering Pre-K through 5th grade.

All of our Activity Specialists build their own informal Jewish education curricula based on Jewish values and creating a connection to Israel. They teach daily 30 minute lessons to campers entering Pre-K through entering 5th grade.

Responsibilities:
• Work with the Program Director to create weekly lesson plans
• Create and execute fun, age-appropriate activities
• Engage campers and help them develop new skills
• Run 30 minute lessons daily with groups of 12-14 campers
• Incorporate Jewish values, Hebrew and/or Israel education into activities whenever possible (assistance is provided if you do not have experience in this area)

We are currently seeking specialists in the following areas: Music, Sports, Yoga, Art, Hebrew, Martial Arts, Nature, Swim/Lifeguarding

Camp runs Monday – Friday from June 24 – August 16 with a week of staff training from
June 17, 18, 20 & 23. The camp day is 8:30am – 4:00pm. Approximately 30 hours of pre-camp curriculum development.

Sprout Brooklyn is a place where children from a wide spectrum of backgrounds join together to create a joyful, diverse community built on Jewish values, a connection to Israel and the Hebrew language.

Camp Ramah Wisconsin provides 575+ children and 300+ adults with transformative experiences of vibrant Jewish life seamlessly blended with the joy of summer camp. We serve Jewish campers throughout the Midwest and beyond with diverse backgrounds and needs who come together to make friends, have fun, develop skills, and enhance their Judaism.

Depending on camper support needs, the inclusion counselors will work with an individual camper or group of campers, allowing them to enjoy the magic of camp. Our inclusion support program is supervised by a disability inclusion specialist and is part of our overall camper wellness team.

MESSH Specialist

Join our team as the Young Judaea Sprout Brooklyn Camper Care Manager and be at the forefront of ensuring the Mental, Emotional, Social wellbeing of our campers and staff. Collaborate closely with the Director and our summer leadership team, you’ll tackle any issue that arises during the camp season with positivity and skill.
As our MESSH Specialist, you’ll provide invaluable guidance to campers and staff, empowering them to make healthy, responsible, and respectful choices. Your role includes training staff on fostering positive social interactions, managing challenging camper behaviors and interpersonal disputes, identifying, and supporting campers with special needs, among other critical topics. You’ll embody Sprout Brooklyn’s core values, fostering strong relationships with both campers and staff while demonstrating exceptional communication skills.
Flexibility is key in this role, as you’ll navigate various situations with compassion and empathy. While you won’t have direct programmatic responsibilities, you’ll lead pre-camp training sessions and ongoing staff development, ensuring our team is equipped to handle any situation that arises.
Responsibilities:
• Lead in determining appropriate responses to camper and staff issues related to social, emotional, and mental health
• Support staff in managing challenging situations and addressing camper needs
• Pre Camp Conversations with special need camper families
• Participate in supervisor and staff training prior to camp

Camp runs from the June 24 – August 16, with some pre-summer work (flexible hours). The camp day runs from 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Salary Range: $7,000-$10,000, dependent on role and experience.
