Counselor
-Live in dorms and be directly responsible for the emotional, social, and physical health of campers living in the dorms.
-Partner with other counselors to ensure full camper supervision during all scheduled activity blocks, meals, free time, rest hour, shower-time, night-time activities, and after lights-out.
-Work in partnership with all Sci-Tech staff members to help each camper create camper connections and friendships and become acclimated to life at camp.
-Encourage campers to develop their passion for science and technology and help them share that passion with the camp community.
-Have a well-developed sense of responsibility, good judgment, and common sense.
-Assist workshop instructors and chugim (elective) leaders in their programs.
-Create and assist with camp programming outside of chugim and workshops, including hall activities, evening programs, kinesthetic sciences/athletics, Shabbat programming, and other camp activities.
-Be a positive Jewish role model by living our camp values of Kesher (Connection), Savlanut (Patience), Sakranut (Curiosity), Taglit (Discovery), and Kavod (Respect) at camp and beyond.
-Model our value of inclusion by interacting positively with diverse people.
-Participate fully with an open mind and a willingness to learn in the staff orientation conference.
-Constantly seek better ways to guide, support, and encourage children based on best practices taught during our staff orientation conference.
-Model and use camp appropriate self-care techniques.
-Be able to meet the demanding schedule of camp life by being flexible, resilient, and a team player.
