Camp Mountain Chai
We build community one happy camper at a time.
Housed in the San Bernardino National Forest, Camp Mountain Chai expands and enriches Jewish identity by establishing an atmosphere of knowledge and love for Jewish culture, traditions and religion.
CMC provides a warm and caring family atmosphere. Our highly trained staff works hard to maintain this safe, nurturing environment for our campers. Campers develop a sense of community through the many forms of group activities offered throughout the day. At the same time, each camper’s individuality is also honored and respected.
Through a wide array of activities such as sports, arts, outdoor adventure and aquatics, campers build life-long friendships, independence and self worth.
*We welcome transgender, intersex, non-binary and gender-non conforming campers

Meet The Director
Rachel Shyloski
Since 2009, Rachel Shyloski has been involved with Camp Mountain Chai as both a Unit Leader (’09-’13), Director of Camper Care (’14), Assistant Director (’15-’18) and Associate Director (’19-’21). Her patience and ability to empathize have always been true to her nature. Rachel is a naturalist and humanist at heart. Her love of nature coupled with her desire to educate others about the natural world has given Rachel a unique perspective on how to build that same respect for one another within our Camp community.
