Shalom Institute (Camp JCA Shalom)
We've Been Having Fun Since 1951!
JCA Shalom’s vision of Tikun Olam (creating a better World) is fulfilled through a positive Jewish living experience. In our warm and supportive community environment, campers are able to live, learn, and play in a group setting that encourages personal growth and self-discovery.
Campers participate in a variety of dynamic programs and activities that develop a wealth of new skills and interests. From our youngest campers, to our counselors-in-training, Camp JCA Shalom promises a fun-filled adventure that will have you coming back year after year. We invite you to come and enjoy the beauty of nature, the feeling of community, the comfort of friends, the joy of learning, and the experience of a lifetime!

Meet The Director
Allison David
Allison came to Camp JCA Shalom from Toronto, Canada in 1999 after a friend told her about “this camp in Malibu she just HAD to check out.” She began as the Habonim Unit Head and Camp Teva Program Director, later serving as Head Counselor. After spending several years traveling and living abroad, Allison returned to Toronto to study social work at Ryerson University. In 2007, she came back to JCA full time as Assistant Camp Director, later becoming Associate Director before stepping into her current role as Camp Director. All these years later, she’s still grateful she decided to “check out” Camp JCA Shalom.
