JCC’s Camp Centerland at the Irving M. Shuman Campgrounds
Camp Centerland’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that teaching and demonstrating the Jewish values of Chesed (kindness), Kehillah (community) and Tikkun Olam (healing the world) is as important as splashing in the swimming pool, enjoying a popsicle on Wednesday, or singing favorite camp songs. Limud is the Hebrew word for learning, which is at the heart of everything we do. Limud (learning) is the foundation of our diverse camp community and it enables everyone to gain a deeper sense of identity and belonging.

Led by experienced staff and Jewish professionals, we offer a plethora of traditional and specialty summer sessions from 3 days to 8 weeks at our home amongst the redwood trees in the hills of Santa Rosa, CA. Days at camp include individual choice from an abundant mix of activities like archery, circus arts, martial arts, splashing in the pool and flying down the waterslide, tons of sports like pickleball, basketball, soccer and ultimate frisbee, fine and performing arts, all within our joyful, Jewish community. Shabbat is the highlight of our week complete with music, Israeli dancing, delicious food and stunning sunsets. At camp, we create the world as we want it to be – more inclusive, more kind, more joyful – and we learn what it takes to be a mensch and go out into the world to make it a better place. We build friendships that last a lifetime and have a TON of fun!
