My name is Sydnie Rudnick and camp has changed my life in so many great ways. That’s why for my Mitzvah Project I have partnered with Foundation for Jewish Camp (FJC) to help more Jewish kids experience how amazing summer camp is!
I definitely found my community at my overnight camp, Camp Laurelwood. Laurelwood is actually one of the camps supported by FJC!
Camp lets me try so many new opportunities. For example, lake inflatables, Shabbat dinner every Friday, Big-O (camp olympics) and lots more.
Camp also lets you meet people you would have never met otherwise. For example, I met a girl who is my best friend at camp, and I couldn’t imagine not meeting her.
That’s why I think it is important to experience Jewish summer camp! At camp, you get to meet new people, try new things, and find a community.
Foundation for Jewish Camp (FJC) grows, supports, and strengthens the Jewish camp movement, so camps can deliver exceptional experiences for their campers, staff, families, and communities. FJC scales programs and resources to benefit more than 300 Jewish day and overnight camps across North America serving nearly 200,000 youth, teens, and young adults each summer. This includes helping families find the right camp and providing financial support to those who are attending camp for the first time through our One Happy Camper® program.

Yes! Foundation for Jewish Camp is a qualified U.S. 501(c)(3) charitable organization that invests in transformative summer experiences for young people—ensuring the Jewish future. Your donation is 100 percent tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. Once you have successfully completed your donation, a donation receipt and acknowledgement email will be sent to you. This email can be used as your official record to claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes. FJC’s tax identification number is 22-3551013.
