Overview: In this webinar we will explore how to maximize camp spaces and the natural environment to support campers with and without disabilities. We will explore how campers utilize their sensory system to understand their environment and what support and accommodation counselors can provide to make the spaces at camp more accessible.
Presenter: Franki Bagdade
Overview: Sometimes camper behaviors can be confusing and frustrating. In this session, we will discuss tips and tricks to determine the why behind these behaviors through real examples in the field. In addition, we will learn how to approach these tough conversations with campers so that collaborative solutions can be put in place.
Presenter: Sarah Parkes
Overview: In this session, we’ll explore what the workforce looks like for individuals with disabilities and how camp can help build transferable job skills. We will discuss how workplace readiness starts with small, everyday tasks that can be woven into camp activities. Most importantly, we’ll brainstorm how you can be an advocate for your campers to create inclusive vocational opportunities that empower them for their futures.
