Kids Do Well If They Can: Rethinking Behavior at Camp (with Tali Cohen Carrus, Gateways: Access to Jewish Education)
Foundation for Jewish Camp is excited to present the 2026 Disabilities Inclusion Training Series for seasonal staff. Seasonal staff who work with or are interested in supporting campers and staff with disabilities are invited to participate in this multi-part series, which includes a financial incentive and will run from April-May.
This session will help camp professionals see beyond challenging behaviors and shift from consequence-driven responses to curiosity, drawing on principles from the collaborative problem-solving approach. Participants will explore how to set developmentally appropriate expectations, examine the underlying causes of behavior, and proactively support campers by addressing unmet needs and lagging skills. Together, we’ll embrace the mindset that kids do well if they can, and that challenging behavior reflects skill, not will.
Please register for trainings by April 15th, 2026 11:59am ET.
