SPACE-Informed Training Series: Supporting Parents & Staff to Address Anxiety
Foundation for Jewish Camp is offering a four-part online learning cohort for camp professionals who play a significant role in supporting campers, families, and staff before and during the summer.
Grounded in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), this cohort will introduce an evidence-informed framework for:
• Understanding and responding to anxiety
• Strengthening communication with parents and caregivers
• Helping children and staff build greater confidence and independence
Participants will explore practical language, tools, and strategies they can apply to:
• Camper intake and preparation
• Family communication
• On-site camper support
• Coaching seasonal staff
Sessions will combine learning with discussion and application to real camp scenarios. Participants will also consider how SPACE-informed principles can be integrated into camp policies, processes, and year-round family engagement.
This opportunity is designed especially for experienced camp professionals whose roles include camper care, family engagement, intake, or coaching counselors and other staff. Whether you are at an overnight or day camp, or work full-time or part-time year-round, all interested professionals are welcome to apply. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis for this limited opportunity.
Participants will learn alongside peers from across the field and have access to limited follow-up coaching in spring 2027 to support the application of their learning in preparation for summer.
This series will be facilitated by The Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies and is funded by the Yedid Nefesh initiative.
