West Coast Jewish Overnight Camp Gathering
12/02/25 - 12/04/25
FJC invites overnight camp professionals to gather again for a few days of reconnecting and rejuvenation in beautiful Ojai, California. We’ll get back to basics on camp marketing and recruitment, learn from colleagues in the field, and hear from FJC’s new CEO Jamie Simon.
Breakout Session Proposals
FJC is seeking proposals for 75-90 minute breakout sessions. Based on registration numbers, FJC intends to offer 2-3 options during at least two session blocks. We are actively seeking the following topics:
- Communities of belonging
- Israel education at camp
- Creative camp facilities
- Vocational education/skills training
- Maximizing small camp teams
FAQs
When does the program start and end?
Check-In/Arrivals will be from 1:00–3:00 PM on Tuesday, with programming starting at 3:00 PM. Programming will wrap up by 1:00 PM on Thursday.
Where is this being held?
The gathering will be at Camp Ramah in California’s Zimmer Retreat & Conference Center in Ojai, California. Full address will be provided to those attending.
How do I get to Ojai?
Ojai is a beautiful place to spend your time! If you have time, we recommend spending some extra time in the area. If you’re in for a quick trip, we will provide shuttles from (and back to) LAX and Burbank airports. There will be one shuttle per airport coming to Ojai on Tuesday and one per airport on the way back on Thursday. We will let you know the timing so you can book your flights accordingly.
Is there parking at camp?
There is plenty of uncovered parking at camp’s entrance. Generally, cars may not park inside of camp, and we will ask everyone to move cars to the parking lot after they transfer their belongings.
Who is this for?
This is open to any year-round professionals working at FJC network overnight camps in Western states (California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Colorado). This gathering is best for program team professionals such as directors, assistant directors, program directors, etc., but all are welcome.
How many people from each camp can attend?
We welcome any and all! We do have a capacity maximum, but there should be space for up to five people from your team to attend.
What is the program content?
We will be together for at least one content block each day, and participants will be able to choose breakout sessions to attend based on their interests.
What is provided?
This program is free to attend in an effort to make this accessible to all camps. FJC will provide single-occupancy, hotel-style accommodations, meals, and snacks.
What is not provided?
Please make sure to pack your own toiletries, games, sports equipment, and anything you need for a comfortable and fun few days.
What if I need to bring a child, animal, or just a best friend?
