Summer 2025 Jewish Overnight Camp Scholarship – Georgia

Summary

Foundation for Jewish Camp (FJC) in partnership with Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta is providing camp tuition assistance to Georgia families through FJC’s new Georgia Small Communities Jewish scholarship program.  Campers from GA, who live 50 or more miles from Atlanta’s 30309 zip code) are eligible to receive scholarship funding from FJC’s new Georgia Small Communities Jewish Camp Fund.  These scholarship funds enable campers to attend any Jewish overnight camp in FJC’s network including, but not limited to, our regional partners Camp Barney Medintz, Camp Judaea, Ramah Darom, URJ Camp Coleman, and URJ 6 Points Sports.

Scholarship Information 

Camp scholarships are based on financial need and awarded by the scholarship review committee.  Forms are reviewed anonymously. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and must be submitted no later than April 30, 2025. Please submit as soon as you are able.  The scholarship application requires a non-protected copy of your most recent tax return. Eligibility

Eligibility requirements for campers 

To receive scholarship funds, campers must meet the four requirements listed below.
Please make sure to check each box to acknowledge you’ve read though each one PRIOR to completing your scholarship application:

  • Currently lives in state of Georgia at least 50 miles from Atlanta zip code 30309.
  • Identifies as Jewish
  • Is officially registered and enrolled in an overnight camp in FJC’s network. To check if your child(ren)’s camp qualifies
  • Use the FJC Camp Finder tool: click here.  Many camps do not currently have openings in particular sessions or age groups. Please contact the camps that interest you to see if space is available.
  • Attending camp for at least 12 consecutive days (with the exception of Camp Judaea’s Rishonim program that is 11 days).

One Happy Camper® (OHC) 

First-Time Campers: If your child is a first-time camper at an overnight Jewish camp and you meet eligibility requirements listed above, you can apply for a One Happy Camper® (OHC) incentive grant. The OHC grant is separate from scholarship assistance and provides need-blind incentive grants of up to $1500 and does not require demonstration of financial need.  Second year OHC Small Community Incentive grants are also available to families that received a Small Communities OHC Grant for the first time in Summer 2024.
