Join a dynamic forward thinking overnight camp team as the Staff Care Manager, in tandem with the Director, and leadership team. We are currently looking for a candidate to join our Community Care team. This person will be responsible for working on mental, emotional, and social health issues with our incredible staff. The Staff Care Manager is expected to provide our community with meaningful guidance to make healthy, responsible, and respectful choices. The Staff Care Manager embodies Sprout Camp’s core values in their interactions and decisions regarding community care and is a positive, contributing member of the summer leadership team. The Staff Care Manager is expected to create strong relationships with the camp community and exhibit excellent communication skills.

This position requires a person with a variety of skills and the ability to transition from one situation to another quickly and intuitively while also showing compassion and empathy for campers and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves a challenge, an environment that is constantly changing, and working with college age population. Camp is a magical place, and our staff are the people that make it happen. This person will support these very special people.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

1. Serve as the lead professional in determining appropriate responses to all issues related to social, emotional, and mental health, safety, and well-being of staff
2. Serve as a positive role model in the camp community and represent camp values
3. Participate in required supervisor and staff training prior to camp
4. Communicate with Director, Assistant Director, and Infirmary to monitor and support the physical, social, and emotional health, safety, and well-being of staff
5. Assist with challenging staff situations and provide ongoing support to respond to staff’s behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs
6. Consult with Director and Assistant Director about significant concerns and issues that arise to determine appropriate response for staff
7. Observe and document staff situations/incidents, design behavior intervention and/or management plans, and monitor and report on progress
8. Facilitate group cohort sessions for all staff, creating a supportive environment to help staff navigate difficult situations and promote further learning
9. Perform other related duties as assigned by Camp Director

Summer Camper Care Coordinator

Position: Camper Care Coordinator
(Seasonal Summer position, part time spring hours)
Organization: Ramah Day Camp LA
Reports to: Camp Director, Ramah Day Camp LA

Position Overview:

The Ramah Day Camp LA Camper Care Coordinator is focused on supporting the mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual (MESSH) health of our community. The Camper Care Coordinator will support campers during the summer with any MESSH needs they might have, serve as a primary point of contact for parents, and will also supervise the summer camper care team. The Camper Care Coordinator will help to develop staff training on meeting children’s developmental needs, work alongside management to ensure staff feel supported in their roles, add a child development lens to team conversations about new programming, and support our youth safeguarding practices. Additionally, the Camper Care Coordinator is responsible for spring camper intakes to gather new information and create plans for summer success, as well as assisting with the onboarding of new camper families. This position reports to the Camp Director and is a member of camp’s summer leadership team. The position is full time (exempt) and on-site from June 9, 2024-July 29, 2024. Spring hours (remote) of approximately 10-15 hours per month are required from March-June.

Summer Responsibilities Include:
– Communicate and partner regularly with parents and staff in order to best support the MESSH needs of our campers
– Serve as the lead professional in determining appropriate responses to the more significant camper and staff mental health and safety concerns that arise, in collaboration with the Camp Director
– Provide ongoing support and training to staff throughout the summer to respond to campers physical, behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs
– Supervise the summer camper care team as they support counselors and campers with any MESSH issues that may arise
– Other responsibilities that may arise and are at the discretion of management

Hourly Spring Responsibilities Include:
– Cultivate and maintain relationships with camp families that are rooted in open and efficient communication, trust, and partnership
– Manage camper intake process, including shared oversight of enrollment as well as review of camper care forms
– In collaboration with camper families and any other necessary Ramah or mental health professionals, create plans to support individual camper needs during the summer
– Assist in planning camper care related training sessions for Staff Week and throughout the summer
– Other responsibilities that may arise and are at the discretion of management

Salary:
Spring (March-June): $36/hour (approximately 15 hours per month)
Summer (6/9/25-7/29/25): $11,500, exempt
