Join the team at Eden Village West! The Camper Care Director is a seasonal summer full-time non-exempt position, with part-time hours before summer session begins. The Camper Care Director reports to the Executive Camp Director. The Camper Care Director will benefit from being a part of the Foundation for Jewish Camp’s Yedid Nefesh Community of Practice, connecting with and learning from other Jewish camp mental health professionals.
About Eden Village West
Eden Village West is an organic farm-to-table residential Jewish camp in Sonoma County, California with a 6-week overnight summer program.. Our campers enjoy farming, wilderness and homesteading skills, culinary arts, music and sports as they become empowered to promote a more environmentally sustainable, socially just, and spiritually connected world for all.

Specific Responsibilities of the Camper Care Director include:
Summer (on site, full time at camp June. 4-July 31):
● Serving as a resource to campers throughout the summer in facing mental, emotional and social health challenges, and assisting counselors and tribe leaders (unit heads) in problem solving cases wherein campers need special support
● Managing information about camper needs, and communicating those to staff, as well as documenting communication and plans within Eden Village West’s systems
● Communicating and managing relationships with parents/caregivers in regards to camper needs
● Playing a leadership role in the planning and implementation of staff training and ongoing staff learning related to mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health (MESSH) including:
○ Designing and leading training for staff about camper care
○ Creating ongoing staff training on areas of camper mental health
● Creating and implementing programming for small groups of campers focused on wellness and social-emotional learning
● Serving as an emotional resource to staff as needed
● Preparing and submitting weekly reports to Foundation for Jewish Camp as part of our Yedid Nefesh program participation, specifically regarding mental, emotional, and social health of Eden Village West and its campers, including sharing high-level understandings of interactions and interventions taking place throughout the summer
● Living at camp on-site for the full duration of camp (housing/meals are provided), and weaving yourself into the fabric of the camp community
Spring (remote, hourly, February-May, approx. 5 hours/month):
● Participating in Foundation for Jewish Camp’s Community of Practice as part of the Yedid Nefesh program, including two or three virtual gatherings and one in-person gathering per year with other Jewish camp mental health professionals
● Managing pre-camp camper MESSH intake, including the review of camper profiles, communicating with camper families and their mental health providers to create individual support plans for camp, and properly documenting all plans and communication within Eden Village West’s systems
*Additional responsibilities as required.

Salary:
$5,500 plus hourly spring work @ $35/hr

Position
Ramah Darom seeks an engaged, experienced business professional with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong financial acumen for the role of Chief Executive Officer. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for driving the mission, overall direction and performance of the organization. The CEO provides the leadership, vision, and management to ensure strong program development, marketing, customer relations and effective operations to ensure the organization’s short- and long-term financial health. The CEO oversees the senior leadership team of five, and a year-round team of 30 with summer staff of 200.

We are seeking a leader who is poised to take the vision of Ramah Darom to the next level. This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced professional to join a lively and thriving Jewish organization with an engaged community that stretches from the Southeast and beyond that has meaningful impact on individuals and the Jewish community as a whole.

Responsibilities
· Oversee the development and implementation of strategy, programs, pricing and customer experience for Ramah Darom’s camp, retreat and rental functions.
· Work collaboratively with senior leadership to ensure successful organizational operations and troubleshoot challenges that may arise. Direct reports include Camp Director & Head of Education, Director of Retreat and Rentals, Director of Development and Board Relations, Director of Campus Operations and Controller.
· Ensure representation of a clear, consistent image/identity for Ramah Darom and an effective marketing and communications strategy to key constituents.
· Ensure the effective development and management of finances, capital plans and projects.
· Serve as the face of Ramah Darom, supporting fundraising efforts as well as cultivating strong relationships with community leaders, program participants, donors, foundations and vendors.
· Ensure regular communication with the Board including preparing materials for meetings, soliciting support and feedback as needed and working with Board leadership, in accordance with the Bylaws of Ramah Darom, to support the proper and efficient functioning of the Board in its governance role.

Qualifications

· Senior management experience with a multi-faceted for-profit or non-profit organization.
· An ethical and caring individual. Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment to quality and service excellence; instills trust and confidence.
· Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and coach senior professionals, build effective teams, set priorities, make decisions, communicate rationale and delegate.
· Strong and creative problem-solving skills.
· Sophisticated analytical skills, particularly financial (e.g., P&L management, budgeting, pricing, ROI evaluation and forecasting). Attention to detail. Computer savvy.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills. Communicates and engages effectively one-on-one, in small groups, and across multiple audiences (i.e., leadership team, staff, parents, board, donors, community leaders). Good listener. Approachable.
· Senior experience in at least one of: retreat centers, hospitality sector, overnight camping.
· Experience in facility management is desirable.
· Experience in fundraising, especially major donor cultivation, stewardship and solicitation.
· Experience reporting to or serving on a non-profit board.
· Professional or volunteer experience with Jewish communal organizations is an asset.
· Entrepreneurial and flexible, able to readily shift between being strategic and tactical, able to get into the trenches as necessary.
· Self-motivated with proven ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks while achieving quality deliverables. Well-organized with strong follow-through.

Location
The CEO is based in the Ramah Darom office in the Northwest Atlanta suburbs with regular trips to the Ramah Darom campus in Clayton, GA throughout the year both during and outside of retreats, rentals, and when Camp Ramah Darom is in session. Some travels may also be required throughout the Southeast to visit constituent communities.

Compensation & Benefits
Based on the qualifications above, the salary range for this position is $220,000-$240,000. Ramah Darom offers a meaningful benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, annual contributions to a 403(b) retirement plan, car and phone allowances, term life insurance, disability insurance and vacation. Room and board is provided while in residence on the Ramah Darom campus in Clayton. Ramah Darom offers full-time employees tuition benefits for children attending Camp Ramah Darom and immediate family members attending Ramah Darom retreats.
