CIT Program Counselors
Camp Gilboa
Description
Being a CIT Program Counselor (or other leadership) requires:
– Passion and commitment to Gilboa and a willingness to channel that into the work that’s required
– Both big picture and detail oriented thinking
– Ability to develop vision, goals and implementation plans, and follow through on them
– Ability to foster positive relationships with CITs and guide CITs in a positive way
– Composure in high stress situations and a flexible mindset and ability to improvise
– Ability to work over a prolonged period and contribute to a cohesive team
– Commitment to follow through and communicate on long term projects (February through August)
– Initiative and stamina throughout a long term process
– Commitment to self-reflection, evaluation and feedback
– Communication skills with the rest of the counselor and senior leadership staff
– Communication skills between the CITs and counselors
– Willingness and drive to form connections with the rest of the counselors (the CIT program is a separate part of camp in a lot of ways and can feel isolating)
– Awareness of the fact that CITs are still campers and need care, personal hadracha, and support
Commitment to work with Senior Leadership to develop a program that would best serve the needs of the CITs as individuals and the future leadership of Gilboa
-CIT Counselors are also responsible for helping the CITs run intersession programming for the campers
