Description
Capital Camps & Retreat Center (CCRC), a non-profit Jewish camping and retreat organization, is seeking a full-time communications and marketing associate to join the team.
Agency Overview
CCRC provides enriching, summer overnight camp and year-round retreat services to children, families, and organizations primarily from the Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia areas. The agency’s office is located in Rockville, MD, and the camp and retreat center is located in Waynesboro, PA. Founded in 1987, Capital Camps has enjoyed steady growth and is now close to capacity each summer with children ages 7 to 17 on an expansive renovated campus in the Catoctin Mountains. The Retreat Center, which hosts approximately 100 groups each year, is a center of learning and rejuvenation for adults, families, and organizations.
CCRC is affiliated with the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore, JCCA (Jewish Community Center Association), ACA (American Camp Association), FJC (The Foundation for Jewish Camp), and JCamp 180 (a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation).

Responsibilities:
– Craft and tell the story of our successful camp and retreating agency.
– Showcase our activities and updates on social media, monitor and report analytics.
– Remain up to date on the latest trends and opportunities to continue elevating our social media presence.
– Collaborate with our external marketing consultant to develop and implement agency marketing strategies.
– Serve as each team’s point of contact with the external marketing consultant to ensure deliverables match the agency’s needs.
– Design graphics and collateral to support social media and other marketing efforts.
– Write copy for marketing materials, social media posts, newsletters, and other promotional channels.
– Capture summer and retreat highlights on video and produce high-quality highlight reels, testimonials, and other assets for distribution to parents and the greater community via email, social media and other channels.
– Edit and update our websites as needed.
– Create and send daily exciting email blasts to camp parents during the summer season and to community partners during retreat season as needed.
– Manage social media profiles including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms to foster community, attract new campers and retreat clients, and engage current families, community partners, staff and alumni.
– Generate, publish, and share fun and engaging content that fosters relationships with the community.
– Meet regularly with the camp and retreat teams regarding upcoming communications.
– Manage the communications and marketing workflow across the agency from project inception to completion, including deadlines.
– Order promotional swag to be given to campers, distributed at events and available for giveaways.
– Assist colleagues with creating engaging and meaningful communication, including development/fundraising campaigns, camper recruitment and retention, and retreat rentals and programs.
– Manage alumni online network.
– Manage and maintain organization’s photo database, and daily distribution of photos during the summer and for year-round use.
– Other related duties as needed.
