FJC’s Cornerstone Fellowship is hiring passionate and creative consultants for our 2025 program. Apply to be a part of a team that provides important professional development, educational content, and support to returning camp counselors and senior leadership across the field of Jewish camp!

Every year the Cornerstone Fellowship brings together the strongest counselors, nominated from 60+ Jewish camps, for four days of exchanging ideas through attending workshops, trainings, and immersive experiences.

Cornerstone is specifically looking for educators who can support the following content areas:

  • Sports: teaching best practices for designing engaging games, movement, and athletic competition and infusing meaningful Jewish content.
  • Diverse Perspectives: teaching how to create moments at camp to share and be introduced to diverse perspectives on charged topics in today’s world through a Jewish lens.

Faculty Educators are an integral part of making the Cornerstone seminar a reality by:

  • Crafting, creating, and implementing expert content
  • Contributing to a strong faculty community that models for participants the importance of FJC’s
  • Core values
  • Participating in Cornerstone committees that impact the experience outside of individual sessions
  • Co-creating and co-facilitating sessions with other faculty members
  • Providing feedback for other faculty members on their educational material

The Cornerstone Faculty experience begins virtually in December of 2024 and continues until the end of the seminar in May of 2025.

Compensation

$6500

Requirements

Ideal candidates for this role are…

  • engaging, effective and excellent (experiential) facilitators/educators
  • able to bring a unique perspective/expertise to a relevant content are
  • excellent communicators who are able to communicate with a variety of stakeholders verbally and in writing, and can easily and appropriately formulate and share their guidance
  • strong team players who collaborator/co-facilitator with others and are open to feedback and growth
  • experienced and/or is comfortable in a pluralistic Jewish environment
  • hard working, accountable, and responsive
  • creative, fun-loving and playful
  • able to commit to and embody FJC’s values: Agility, Community Mindedness, Excellence, Imagination, Joy, and Social Responsibility

Educator Required Dates:

  • New Faculty Orientation (Virtual — just for new team members) — December 17, 11-12:00pm EST
  • All Faculty Orientation (Virtual) — December 17, 12-1:30pm EST
  • January Planning Seminar (In Person @ Capital Camps & Retreat Center) — January 13-16
  • Cornerstone Planning Gathering 1 (Virtual) — February 25, 1-5pm EST*
  • Cornerstone Planning Gathering 2 (Virtual) — March 20, 1-5pm EST*
  • Cornerstone Planning Gathering 3 (Virtual) — April 29, 1-5pm EST*
  • May Seminar Faculty Preparation Time & Shabbat Experience (In Person @ Capital Camps & Retreat Center) — May 15-17
  • May Seminar (In Person @ Capital Camps & Retreat Center) — May 18-22
    *for virtual planning gatherings, please hold all 4 hours — you might not be needed for all 4 hours.
