Day Camp Unit Head

Description
OSRUI is seeking a unit head for Chaverim, our day camp unit, which consists of the children of our onsite faculty and staff members who are not yet old enough to be overnight campers. This person will oversee and is responsible for all activities within their unit. They are the direct supervisor of all staff in their unit and aware of all aspects of the unit. Unit heads report to a member of the year-round team with whom they meet on a regular basis.
Compensation
$4,500
Requirements
• Evidence of leadership skill and capacity
• Strong background and experience in camping and/or related fields
• Basic understanding of child and adolescent development concepts
• Ability to creatively plan and schedule programs and activities, and to maximize the skills & talents of staff members under your direct and indirect supervision
• Ability to give and take constructive criticism
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
• Must have demonstrated successful leadership skills and the ability to motivate, manage, and counsel
• Elementary or early childhood education experience preferred
• College graduate (or equivalent age) preferred
