Jewish Summer Day Camp Leader and Jewish Afterschool Lead Teacher and Position
Temple Beth Sholom
Description
Join our team in San Leandro as the Lead After School Teacher and Camp Counselor in Temple Beth Sholom’s unique five-day-per-week after school program and school break camps. This would be a great job for someone who has worked as a Jewish summer camp counselor and can envision doing that type of work year-round (but with normal hours!). We provide transportation from several elementary schools to our site where we offer structured programming that takes place after school, with Jewish values and culture at the core. The program also includes time for free play and for homework. During the summer and other school breaks, we also hold day camp sessions. This is an incredibly fun job with play at the heart of the program!
The successful candidate truly loves working and actively engaging with children in grades TK – 7th. This person brings passion for and experience in Jewish learning spaces, Jewish youth programs, and/or Jewish camp. The successful candidate has experience working successfully with students or campers and demonstrated knowledge of child development and social emotional learning. Experience in a leadership role is preferred. The successful candidate is infectiously positive and fun!
This position is a full-time (30 hours) position that qualifies for benefits. Those include a health care reimbursement plan, monthly accruing PTO, professional development opportunities, and paid time off for Jewish holidays and federal holidays. This begins Monday, June 16, 2024 with summer camp sessions, followed by an August training week, before continuing with the start of the school year. Our school year is in accordance with the San Leandro Unified District public school calendar.
