Camp Avoda
Description
Camp Avoda, a not for profit overnight Jewish boys camp located in Middleboro, MA, is seeking an energetic Woodworking Instructor (male or female).
The objective of the camp woodworking instructor is to provide on-going instruction and advice on the design and fabrication of a wide array of items and articles of wood construction to campers at Camp Avoda.
Our camp season is: 6/19/2024 to 8/14/2024. This position will be responsible for up to 5 classes per day, 5 days per week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
Salary is negotiable for the eight week season.

Requirements
The woodworking instructor is also responsible for the following items below but not limited to:
• Monitoring the use of the woodworking shop facilities and operation of equipment and tools.
• Mechanical aptitude for operation, maintenance and repair of shop machinery and equipment.
• Practical knowledge of a wide variety of woods and woodworking materials.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the use and operation of shop equipment and tools and the safe handling of paints, varnishes, solvents and chemicals.
• Ability to direct, guide and supervise campers of all ages.
• The ability to demonstrate and teach campers how to appropriately and safely use hand tools and power tools.
Prior teaching and woodworking experience is preferred.
