The Director of Camper Care (DCC) is a qualified mental health professional and is part of our leadership team at Camp Mountain Chai. The DCC works closely with our Camper Care Team (Associate Director, Camper Care Specialist and Unit Leaders) to ensure the health and welfare of our campers. Focusing on interpersonal group dynamics, bullying, social emotional learning, and more, the DCC provides a depth of resources to impact all staff and campers.

The DCC will have a significant role in pre-camp staff orientation, ongoing training opportunities, and actively participate in camper intake and onboarding prior to the summer, reviewing forms, being involved in family/parent communication in relation to mental health. This will require the individual to be available prior to the summer with hours negotiated between the camp and individual. Ideally, this position will be the start of a longer-term employment and relationship between the mental health professional and the camp organization.


This individual should hold a graduate-level or higher degree in a mental health field including, but not limited to: social work, mental health counseling, psychology, family therapist, etc. Ideally, they should have 3+ years of post-graduate work related experience in the mental health field and have experience working with youth. This position requires you to live on-site for the full summer (June 6 – August 17).
