Assistant Director Lincoln City Day Camp

They must prioritize both the emotional and physical safety of all campers and staff with whom they work.
The Assistant Director of Lincoln City Day Camp oversees the Lincoln City Day Camp program, consisting of up to 50 Day Campers and up to 6 Day Camp Counselors. This position is responsible for the well-being of all Day Campers, Day Camp Staff, and any Staff in Training when with Day Camp, parent communication/outreach, organizing and executing Day Camp programming, trips, and logistics, including the setup and breakdown of all scheduled programming areas.
Aquatic Specialist
Our most popular and exciting activities at BB Camp are those in our aquatics department! Our facilities include both a pool (9 ft deep) and a lake, offering a wide variety of activities, including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and tubing. This summer, we are looking for a dynamic Aquatics Director to oversee the different areas of our aquatics department. An Aquatics Director is responsible for giving extra support to Aquatics Specialists/Lifeguards, acting as a role model, ensuring their specialty areas are ready and safe for use, and ensuring that both themselves and the other Aquatics Specialists carry out their duties in a safe way that is in line with their training.
Specific Responsibilities
-Responsible for the upkeep, safety, and running of program areas and their on-site supplies: The Pool Area and Waterfront/Dock Area.
-Responsible for lifeguarding/scheduling lifeguards for both pool and open water locations. Create daily schedules for aquatics staff, including on and off-duty times.
-Must possess strong swimming skills and pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training & Certification course.
-Oversee and conduct swim tests of every person on-site who plans to swim at any point during their time at Camp.
-Responsible for daily cleaning and weekly updates of all water locations. Assist and coordinate in the setting up and taking down of aquatics areas and activities.
-Assist in providing aquatics staff training, both pre-camp and as needed throughout the summer.
-Know of and enforce all aquatics policies and procedures.
-Identify and prevent hazards occurring in aquatic areas.
-Operating and managing all aquatics areas/activities.
-Be a resource of knowledge about all aquatic areas/activities for all aquatics staff.
-Instruct aquatics activities in a manner that ensures the safe use of equipment, checks for understanding, and appeals to multiple learning styles.
-Conduct daily checks of all aquatics areas and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
-Evaluate the aquatic abilities of participants in aquatics activities, predict where challenges might occur, and help Aquatics Specialists and Bunk Counselors act accordingly.
-Report any safety concerns or dangerous occurrences to the Camp Director.

Wellness Center Manager (Summer Camp Nurse)
BB Camp seeks a dynamic RN to serve as the Wellness Center Manager at the Overnight Camp site on the Oregon Coast. BB Camp provides medical care for campers and staff who attend BB Camp during the summer months. BB Camp’s Wellness Center includes an infirmary and rooms for children who may require an overnight stay for observation. The Wellness Center employs 2-3 staff during the camp season. These staff include a Wellness Center Manager and at least one full-time assistant whose duties may consist of dispensing home prescription medications, assisting in clinic flow, performing minor first aid, infirmary cleaning, and other duties as assigned. All Wellness Center staff must have current American Red Cross or equivalent certification in CPR and First Aid.
This is a full-time, summer, exempt position. Responsibilities performed at the Overnight Camp site (near Lincoln City, OR). The Wellness Center Manager is expected to be available for weekdays, weekends, and nighttime. The Wellness Center Manager will receive 24 hours off per week, and a minimum of 2 hours off per 24 hours.
-Responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the Wellness Center.
-Provides care to children and staff for minor injuries and illnesses and may provide first aid or dispense OTC medications in accordance with the Standing Orders and Treatment Guidelines.
-Provides initial triage and determines if patients can be treated at the Wellness Center or require service from local emergency services, hospital, or Urgent Care.
-Supervises and creates a schedule for Wellness Center Staff.
-Ensures daily presence of Wellness Center staff and orderly flow of patients in/out of daily clinics.
-Creates a system for patients who request to be seen during non-clinic hours.
-Supervises dispensing of home prescription medications or OTC medications to campers and may delegate this supervision to approved Wellness Center Staff.
-Ensures all encounters are documented in the Camp database.
-Maintains patient privacy according to HIPAA standards.
-Communicates effectively among staff, campers, and parents. In some situations, phone calls to parents will be made along with a backup medical provider and/or the Camp Director.
-Professionally maintains the Wellness Center, ensuring it is sanitized regularly, organized, and uses universal precautions.
-Maintains inventory before, during, andafter the camp season. Requests replacement inventory when needed.
-Collaborates with the on-call physician/APRN and/or camp leadership on issues that may arise.
-Works with the Camp Director and Medical Director to lead staff training for summer staff related to wellness at Camp.
-Checks and issues first aid kits as necessary, including those for overnight trips.
-Participate in supervisory and staff meetings.
-Some duties may be reassigned, and other duties may be assigned as required.
Bunk Counselor
As a Bunk Counselor, you’ll challenge yourself, discover skills you never knew you had, make a lasting, positive difference in the lives of children, and be rewarded in a myriad of ways. You are responsible for your campers and their needs day and night. You are their role model, acting as their older sibling, parent, and biggest supporter. You will set the example for them as we sing and cheer at the flagpole (Degel) before meals and guide them in keeping themselves and their cabins clean. You will be their biggest cheerleader as they try new things and their rock when they are having a tough day. This role will strengthen your leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, preparing you for your future career.
Essential Functions:
– Directly responsible for the supervision and care of all campers living in your assigned cabin, day-to-day involvement with all campers present at assigned activity locations, and the teaching of camp rules, policies, and traditions.
– Responsible for the health, safety, hygiene, and well-being of campers. Notify appropriate staff members of concerns.
– Build positive relationships and maintain appropriate boundaries with campers and staff of all ages.
– Help campers keep track of their belongings.
– Responsible for the cleanliness of the cabin.
– Participate regularly and enthusiastically in all assigned programming. Teach or assist in unit and elective activities; always be an active participant.
– Help campers make friends and become acclimated to life at Camp.
– Help plan and lead cabin activities.
– Attend in-camp training sessions and staff meetings as required.
– Be familiar with all emergency procedures and first aid.

Adventure specialist
At BB Camp, Specialist positions include Aquatics, Adventures (ropes, archery, rock wall), Athletics, Arts, Drama, Dance, STEM, Music, Garden, Israeli Culture, and Jewish Enrichment! These positions are responsible for the development and execution of programming in their specialty area, the upkeep of their used spaces on Camp, and leading activity sessions for campers. Adventures Specialists are trained and certified to safely and securely harness and belay campers on our high ropes courses. First and foremost, you are responsible for ensuring campers are safe and secure before participating in any adventure activities. You are also responsible for ensuring campers are comfortable and have a positive experience. While this will be your everyday, many of them are showing courage by trying any adventures activity. When you are not performing your duties as an Adventures Specialist, you will be responsible for your assigned cabin and serve as a Bunk Counselor for your cabin campers. Essential Functions:
-Develop the necessary program plans and rain plans prior to campers’ arrival at camp. Share program plans with supervisor and Camp leadership team before campers’ arrival.
– Be early and ready to lead your assigned activity.
– Set up for and break down from all activity periods.
– Assist in the coordination of activities for all age groups, as assigned by the programming team, as scheduled for each unit.
– Maintain facilities; keep a safe and clean activity area.
– Must clean up and return program supplies to their appropriate location after leading a scheduled activity.
– Assist in all activity areas within your specialty when assigned and/or requested.
– When not assigned to lead an activity, you are required to be with your cabin and fulfill your duties as a bunk counselor.
– Coordinate with the Specialist Coordinator on purchasing and procuring supplies in advance.
– Act as a general resource for other Camp activities relating to your specialty.
– Participate in other Camp programming as assigned.
– Exercise good judgment and always be safety conscious.
– Attend in-camp training sessions and staff meetings as required.
This is a full-time, seasonal, summer position. Responsibilities performed at the Overnight Camp site (near Lincoln City, OR). Adventures Specialists are expected to be committed and available to all weekdays, weekends, and nighttimes within their designated contract. Adventures Specialists will receive 24 hours off per week worked, and 2 hours off per 24 hours worked.
Assistant Director of Programming
The Assistant Director of Programming is responsible for building a vibrant and inclusive Jewish
community through program innovation, development, and implementation. Duties include
camper recruitment, hiring and supervising BB Camp seasonal programming staff, scheduling and
stewarding the day-to-day overnight camp program, budget development and management, and
planning for improvements and growth. The Assistant Director of Programming is also responsible
for planning and executing year-round engagement programming and events, including Family
Camps, retreats, and other youth, teen, and family events.
Assistant Director of Community Care
The Assistant Director of Community Care is licensed and certified to deliver best-practice, trauma-informed care to children, teens, and young adults with mental and behavioral health challenges. The position is responsible for building a vibrant Jewish community by providing culturally competent mental, emotional, social, and physical health services, overseeing campers’ and staff care, and the well-being of the diverse BB Camp community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working closely, training, developing relevant strategies, and communicating with parents, staff, and campers on issues related to mental, emotional, and social health (MESH), including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/ loss, relationship issues, emotional regulation, social skills, and group dynamics to ensure a successful camp experience. Duties include recruitment, screening, intake and orientation, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, counseling, training, patient education, case management, reporting, record keeping, and information collection.
