Assistant Director of Community Care

B'nai B'rith Camp

Description

The Assistant Director of Community Care is licensed and certified to deliver best-practice, trauma-informed care to children, teens, and young adults with mental and behavioral health challenges. The position is responsible for building a vibrant Jewish community by providing culturally competent mental, emotional, social, and physical health services, overseeing campers’ and staff care, and the well-being of the diverse BB Camp community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working closely, training, developing relevant strategies, and communicating with parents, staff, and campers on issues related to mental, emotional, and social health (MESH), including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/ loss, relationship issues, emotional regulation, social skills, and group dynamics to ensure a successful camp experience. Duties include recruitment, screening, intake and orientation, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, counseling, training, patient education, case management, reporting, record keeping, and information collection.

Compensation

$9,000

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, or special education preferred. Oregon licensed or registered mental-health clinician in good standing with their board welcomed.
• 3+ years of experience in youth mental health with a proven track record.
• Experience in Jewish camping or similar non-profit work.
• Familiarity with Jewish traditions and values; Passion for Jewish experiential and informal education, youth development, and community-building.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
• Strong group facilitation, training, and presentations skills.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Proven supervisory skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with several stakeholders (parents, counselors, unit supervisors, medical staff, camp administration, etc.).
• Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience with program development and implementation.
• Prioritizes inclusivity within the work that is produced.
• Ability to be flexible and manage change.
• Excel at computer-based platforms and related technology, including but not limited to telehealth and databases.
