About ELI:

FJC has long invested in field professionals, developing and implementing some of the most highly regarded professional development opportunities in the Jewish professional world. With generous support from The Marcus Foundation, FJC created the Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) in 2006 to improve Jewish summer camps by significantly upgrading the leadership and management skills of camp directors. ELI has graduated 68 participants in the four cohorts, the last of which ended in 2019.  Many of these graduates have described the program as the training that has most positively influenced their careers and professional development. Using experts and recognized leaders from various disciplines from the business world and the nonprofit sector, the program will challenge the Fellows to widen their lens of leadership and management.

ELI IV has focused on the following six content/skill areas:

  • Camp Vision and Strategic Plan
  • Communication and Marketing
  • Customer Excellence
  • Business, Financial and Operational Management
  • Board Development and Fundraising
  • Staff Training & Development
